Fine. I would never wait that long for a show of great interest to me since my view is the sooner I get it, the better. For me, there's nothing unreasonable about the price if the material is that good and this season has the best episodes of the run which are the ones I'm more inclined to watch again and again.
It amuses me though that we have a standard that says 15 hours of material for $40 is somehow exorbitant yet we're still willing to spend $20-25 for an hour and a half of AUDIO and not think that is price gouging by the ones who put those items out. And I guess remembering as I do how the old two episode at a time approach for a show like Star Trek meant you were paying $225 for one season that's another reason why I can't be impressed by the notion that this is a bad price.

I wish I had the money to purchase every movie and tv show that I like all at once. And I wish I had enough time to continuously watch every movie and tv show I like whenever I want. But I don't. It's called real life.

Which I do very rarely. Last year I bought 6 cds out of the many hundreds that the labels released. This year, so far, I've bought one. However, this is the only way to get these scores. There are other ways to obtain these old tv shows - and far cheaper.

I never had any STAR TREK until last year, when a contact of mine copied the whole series (all 3 seasons) on dvd for me for $25.00 (!) He made exact duplicate copies of his original sets for me, because they were no longer available.
I'm speaking as a veteran of the hobby, who remembers the days of $100 laser discs for movies, $80 for VHS releases, and the aforementioned Trek prices in the early days of DVD of two episodes on one disc for $15 (which was a leap forward from the days of one episode on VHS for $20). That's probably given me a different perspective on what constitutes a decent price or an exorbitant one today and is why in my own area of "real life" I can view this release as something easily affordable.
Heck, I'm spending the extra money to get the set delivered faster because that's how much I'm excited by the fact that at last my shelf has an official release of this show to take its place alongside the other shows of this era. Others are free to make whatever choice they want to on this, but for me, there's nothing out of line or terrible about how its being handled. Could it be better? Yes. But considering the alternative of no release and being stuck with boots that I grew tired of after just one viewing and becoming self-conscious about what was missing, I feel just fine and will eagerly await this when it comes. Under no circumstances would I ever accept owning a boot over an official release unless the official release butchered the content like CBS/Paramount on "The Odd Couple."

Don't forget THE FUGITIVE. Hey, I see no difference between owning a "boot" set of a tv show that somebody else made, and what I did with IRONSIDE. I couldn't afford to plunk down the 50 bucks per season for that show. So, I recorded the entire series off RTV...for FREE. It only cost me the price of the blank discs. Good enough.
My interest remains with Bonanza, but there was vintage TV show news to pass along, so I passed it along.
For some reason, Rawhide didn't resonate with me. Maybe it was the Eric Fleming character--I always confuse him with Rick Jason for some reason--or that Clint wasn't yet "Clint." Rawhide wasn't syndicated in my area until I was well past that impressionable age where I really latched onto a show.
Revelation Films Ltd also announced The Time Tunnel for Europe in one box set. Also announced for June is VTTBOTS S2 in one box. Already released was S1:
At the beginning of 2010, "McMillan And Wife" was approaching five years as a stuck "one and done" title. Now, before the end of Summer 2011, the show will be FINISHED on DVD, even with the dreaded last season minus Susan Saint James.
Giant thumbs down to Shanachie Entertainment which despite remastering all S1 episodes of "Car 54 Where Are You?" in beautiful quality, proceeded to demonstrate a total brain-lock on two other critical matters.
1-Cheap flimsy packaging, the worst I have ever seen in years.
2-But here in the "you cannot be SERIOUS!" category, they decided to put the episodes NOT in broadcast order and NOT in production order but in a totally random scattershot way that according to them was based on the "popularity" opinions of certain unnnamed "Car 54" buffs. That's right, those of us who are used to the idea of TV on DVD letting us see a season unfold the way it's supposed to are stiffed by someone else's subjective standards and on top of that, these people were too cheap to give us any kind of insert to let us know what episodes are on what disc so we can try to overcome this problem ourselves.
The total studpidity that so often exists in these companies that put out TV on DVD never ceases to amaze me. Whether it's CBS/Paramount being too dense not to realize that music they replaced on "The Fugitive" was music they owned free and clear, or Shout! botching the encoding job on S7 of "All In The Family" and not realizing that it had a kinescope instead of videotape look. and now this company that decides to totally ignore ten years of precedent regarding TV on DVD presentation.

Two-thirds of the classic NBC Mystery Movie now complete on DVD at last!
When will they release season 2 of McMillan And Wife in the USA? There is nothing about it at Amazon and still season 3 is planned for June: odd. Thanks.

VE1 will be releasing season 2 sometime in June (from the reports coming in from tvshowsondvd). They just haven't OFFICIALLY announced it yet, like they have with seasons 3, 4 & 5.

Amazon offers the pre-order for McMillan season 3, 4, 5 and not 2: odd?

Just heard about that. Was considering ordering it. It can wait.

Not crazy about the cover art for seasons 4 & 5. Were there no photos of Hudson & St.James actually together in a photo available?
What do you mean? They are together on the covers. Looks good enough to me.
McMillan & Wife season 2 is slated for release on June 7th, although Amazon is not yet taking pre-orders for it. They will within the next few weeks though.
