Yes, cool first episode! And the link to the helicopter people that took Rick away.

Rameau needs to change the title to season 10.

Don't read my comments if you have seen the first episode.

I thought it was a good episode. Lots of zombies. I liked to see the people training. I'm curious about the satellite. Thank goodness that there was no snow. I admit I miss some of the previous leaders. I keep hearing that Michonne will soon leave.

My complaints are that Negan is somehow going to be accepted. He was too cruel to live. I found the little girl kind of irritating. Also, on AMC I could watch about 4 minutes of the show and then 4 minutes of advertisements. Ugh.

I think the story introduced some interesting narratives that will be developed. I do have one question. When Aaron crossed the bridge, Michonne told him not to cross into the Whisperers' territory. She said that the Whisperers had a nuclear bomb and her group and the other groups did not. I know it was not a literal bomb, but it seems with the 3 groups, they would outnumber the Whisperers, so I don't get what she means and why so much fear.

I wasnt sure about bomb line, joan. Is it that they can control the zombies n herd them in packs? Dunno.

Episode was ok, bit slow i thought - cudnt remember why carol is no longer married to/with King?

Negan still being alive and just feeding poison just doesnt ring true. Its just a bad scriptwriter set up for him to make his move to kill again and cause trouble whenever they need it.

It did occur to me that its time to can the talking dead chatshow - series isnt popular enough now to warrant the coverage!

Dun! I am recording this new series (it's on Fox in the UK & I never look at these TV channels live, too many ads that seem to go on forever), I will start to look at it when I've got three or four episodes in the bag. I do think this series is way past it's best (but to make it to season 10 is good going), if this season is good, then I'll look at it, if not, I'll just wizz through to the good bits. I see they're advertising a second spin-off, but I wasn't that taken with the trailer. A few months back I bought the season 1-7 Blu-ray set (I forget how much, but it was really cheap), & that has all the good stuff in it, also, I have season 1&2 of Fear The Walking Dead (I can't even remember buying that), so I'll give that a go sometime.

I have to agree with Bill about Negan, there's no logical reason why he's still alive. Rick could have delivered the Coup de grĂ¢ce during his fight with Negan, job done.

It's a really good show; I'm up-to-date on that; should probably appeal to those of you who are losing interest in the parent series. More focussed, less of the mythological scope (although not on the level of the brilliant show BLACK SUMMER that was released awhile back).

Personally, I still enjoy TWD and have no desire to say how the series has 'lost it' every single week (which is a rather tiresome thing to read on these forums). True, it's not what it was, but it's metamorphosed into something else; something 'bigger'. I thought the first episode of s10 was quite good, although I wasn't sold on the whole "Roman-style training" thing and Eugene's scientific take on baby upbringing. But Oceanside is a cool community, and I love how -- untill the very end -- the Whisperers were kept as an ominous, but not physically present presence. The satelite thing is an intriguing idea; as other have said, I'm curious how that will play out -- perhaps something to do with the "helicopter people" down the line?

My God, I stopped watching it when Negan wasn't taken out on the MANY occasions the main protagonists had (and reading that Maggie is returning soon, I think he might FINALLY get his comeuppance from her soon), but reading what Thor says above, it sounds like it's entered into LOST territory now (another show that started out with great promise and just pi$$ed all the good will away).
I enjoy spending the hour doing more fulfilling things now.
And Thor, for the record, I thought Black Summer was abysmal (never made it through the 2nd episode).

Ouch. How is that even possible? Such a gruelling, intense, claustrophobic series -- the best zombie anything I've seen in many, many years.

Hey, Rameau, thanks for changing the title. Now we can continue talking about season 10 and consistently take opposite sides. wink

Bill, I think you are correct. They can "herd" zombies. That is probably the "bomb."

Will Negan just bide his time and turn bad? Maybe, but I'm more afraid that the writers think he has been reformed. Yuck.

Then dont read it. Im not pretending the series is still good just to please you. If it irritates me, im going to say so.

Seems to me more of a sadomasochistic behaviour; tuning in to a show every week that you apparently hate.

I suspect you meant masochistic?

We've been over this...I used to love it and so i perservere in the hope it improves and gets somewhere near how it used to be. I thought monday's episode was ok.

The whole Negan thing is the daft equivalent of Bobby dreaming an entire series of Dallas!! So now where do they go with it? Either hes kissing babies and smelling flowers - about as un-buyable as starting a fire out of ice; or he waits for his moment, breaks out and kills a main star, leaving blood on the hands of those who let him live, probably siding with alpha and her scummy band on the way out.

And America is turning off.

From dragon.
THE WALKING DEAD---the Season 10 premiere drew 4 million viewers which is the lowest in series history and was 34% lower than Season 9's premiere.

Breaking News.....
New series on ITV2 tonight called ZOMBOAT about two sisters who escape/evade a zombie outbreak in Birmingham UK - (how would anyone notice? wink - by travelling on a canal/houseboat for safety.
It can't be any less comedic than TWD at the moment.

I watched the first episode of ZOMBOAT last night and while it was utter garbage (going for that Shaun Of The Dead/Edgar Wright vibe and failing miserably), it passed the time amiably enough and the blonde girl is easy on the eye enough for me to tune in for ep2 next week.

I prefer the serious zombie stuff over the comedic, but if it's going to be comedic, I lean more towards the British kind (unlike US rubbish like Z NATION). So I'm still going to see it if it gets on a streaming platform somewhere or whatever.

I did chuckle a little when the girls were trying to kill a zombie, but neither girl could muster the nerve/strength to hit it hard enough to kill it (again), until one started egging the other one on with some cruel things the zombie had done to her while alive.
