Bit groggy this morning.
Mixed things up a bit too much yesterday.
Some ciders in the sun...few buds when we went down the beach to watch the sunset (at 20.39 last night) and then a couple (??) of Glayva's with ice, before bed-time (just before 1-00am).
Carole just cooked me a nice breakfast (brunch) though to ease my woes.
Feeling better already.

Sounds like a nice evening. What's Glayva?

I find that the best hangover cure is potato chips (regular salt) and a bottle of Coke. No more, no less. Works better than anything else I've tried.

I'm still hung over after Friday. Biked home at 3 in the morning, got violently ill during the night and spent yesterday on the couch. It's been an extremely booze-heavy summer holiday. I'm not going to have anything untill Friday, most likely.

Glayva is a whiskey liqueur from Leith/Edinburgh, Thor.
Almost medicinal in the wonders it does for your body wink
As with Benedictine, I swear I've gone to bed with a cough, sore throat or temperature but woke up cured as a result of downing either with ice.

Today, after Amazon delivers the pineapple, I will be mixing Missionary's Downfalls.

This place has become the new family favorite. The brews are amazing and very high quality.

Looks good. EDW. If I were not on the other side of the country I would happily give this place a try. Do you have a favorite beer there?

Thor, is it safe to bike home (I'm guessing totally bladdered) at 3 in the morning, or was it still light, being Norway and all? wink

Not safe at all! (though not because of the light -- it was relatively light -- but because of my condition).

The Missionary's Downfall turned out very well. It is a blender drink, and it has been about 3 years since I mixed it.

The ingredients are:

Lots of mint
Pineapple
The Don's honey mix
Freshly-squeezed lime
Peach brandy
White rum
Crushed ice.

All mixed in a blender.

As with all my cocktails, I use fresh ingredients without any corn syrup or the like.

I paired it with Stanley Black's "Exotic Percussion" on London Phase 4.

Now finishing the last little bit with Herbie Hancock's "Headhunter."

Yes, the Sour Cherry was amazing. My son just bought the Elderberry Peach and said it was wonderful. I was afraid it would be IPAish but the flavor was totally unique.

Take it easy there, champ!

Chats will be back in a week or two. First I need to update myself on everything that's been going on, and finish some work that nears deadline.

The German restaurant I eat at every week now has Ye Olde Carlsberg among their draft (draught) beers. Sadly, Ye Olde Carlsberg on draft (draught) does not dazzle like the bilge in cans I regularly drink, so I will remain a Krombacher guzzler when I dine there. It's still nice to know that Ye Olde Carlsberg is available like water from a faucet whenever I want it, though.

OK, Phelps is back, meaning it's my turn to disappear. As you know, Phelps and I are the same person. It gets too confusing to have two browsers open, each with different login credentials.

Nice knowing you guys...

You know you have your enemies by the short-and-curly hairs when they think you're one or more other people.

Cheers to that. cool

I keep looking at the photo of us together in the tiki bar, and, like a Night Gallery painting, it is slowly starting to change. We are slowly merging into a single person in the photo.
