The last few months I'd been making sure that some legends from auto racing were finally added to the list like A.J. Foyt, Richard Petty etc. One name I was sadly remiss in adding to that list of racing legends has just passed away at age 90, Parnelli Jones, the 1963 Indianapolis 500 winner and the first man to break the 150 MPH barrier at the Speedway.

https://racer.com/2024/06/04/parnelli-jones-1933-2024/

In addition to his Indy 500 triumph, Parnelli was also a two-time Indy winner as a car owner in 1970-71.

Sad passing of another neglected name from the list. William Anders, the Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 8, the first flight to orbit the moon, died at age 90. Not from natural causes but he crashed a plane he was flying.

https://nypost.com/2024/06/07/us-news/apollo-8-astronaut-william-anders-killed-in-plane-crash-off-washington-coast/

The entire Apollo 8 crew was still alive until last September when Frank Borman passed away. Now only Jim Lovell is left.
