I'm a bigger fan of cheesy, bad action movies than many, but I'd still like him to apologize for Bad Boys 2 and Transformers 2. The rest are okay enough, I think.

I'm not much of a fan of Bay, but I really like Bad Boys 2, the best car chase ever, & that shoot-out in the house with the camera tracking round is not too shabby. So where's the Blu-ray Sony? They were advertising it as coming years ago.

Armageddon is beyond stupid.

VACATION---the Warner Bros. reboot of the National Lampoon movie franchise starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate has been "delayed indefinitely due to creative differences." Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo were in talks for cameo roles in the reboot.

As long as that means there'll be one less movie out there with Ed Helms, that's a win as far as I'm concerned.

ARMAGEDDON---Michael Bay denied he apologized about ARMAGEDDON and issued the following clarification, “One press writer has gone too far in reporting false information. He has printed the bare minimum of my statement which in effect have twisted my words and meaning. I’m not in the slightest going to apologize for the third movie in my movie career, a film called Armageddon. On the red carpet for Pain & Gain some reporters asked me what are you apologizing for, and I said what on earth are you talking about?
What I clearly said to the reporter, is I wish I had more time to edit the film, specifically the third act. He asked me in effect what would you change if you could in your movies if you could go back. I said, I wish we had a few more weeks in the edit room on Armageddon. And still today Armageddon, is still one of the most shown movies on cable TV. And yes, I’m proud of the movie. Enough said."

Which is fine. No big deal. It just goes back to being a single fail from a double.

I'd say not anyone for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. It's great as it is, just scan all the original negs. from the TV series into HD & re-release the original series on Blu-ray.

Screw them - who on earth is going to do the Stubby Kaye part?? That's a Killer of a song...

Doctor Who? Revelation? Well, it's about time...I wonder if it will be the same revelation that slipped by unnoticed in the Death Comes To Time series, that tried to further the "Cartmel Masterplan" but, because it was on the radio, went pretty-much unheard?

I remember when Clooney was cool, but for over a decade now he has just bored me silly. A shame, too, because Clooney once seemed so promising. At least Cruise seems like he's alive on camera, and he always brings so much energy and devotion to what he does.

MONDAY, APRIL 29

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---when Carrie Fisher was asked if she really is appearing in the movie, she replied, “I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before. I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”

TRANSFORMERS 4---Michael Bay commented on the status of the reboot movies beginning with a clarification of reports of alien TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, "There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We're not. It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic...When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great." On TRANSFORMERS 4, he said, "I would do my designs of the robots and they’re like, 'What if you just add a little bit more ears to Optimus?' But they’re really hands off. We’ve redesigned them in 'Transformers 4,' and there’s some really cool s-t in it. I’m literally redesigning every character, top to bottom..."

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.---a reported explanation was given for Agent Coulson's return in the tv series after being killed off in THE AVENGERS, "In the pilot, it’s revealed Nick Fury faked Agent Coulson’s death on purpose to motivate The Avengers. Some S.H.I.E.L.D. members were in on it, but The Avengers were not. Their security clearance wasn’t high enough. Coulson was forced to hold his breath as part of the ruse and that’s a point of contention among his colleagues. After the fact, Fury moved him to a remote location until things died down, and then he was reinserted into duty at the time of the show."

In any case they got their money's worth out of the motion control photographers at Image G. And we're only now seeing it as it was actually shot! I officially love Blu-ray.
