Here is a recap of the composers:

Movies:
The Terminator - Brad Fiedel
Terminator 2 - Brad Fiedel
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - Marco Beltrami
Terminator Salvation - Danny Elfman
Terminator Genisys - Lorne Balfe

TV Show:
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Bear McCreary

Director's History:
Deadpool - Junkie XL

Brad Fiedel already said he is more than happy to be involved, but not cue by cue scoring, so someone has to do that. I don't see Beltrami or Elfman returning either. Balfe is a possibility and so is Junkie XL, which are my two least favorite choices (even though I thought Balfe's score was respectable). Bear McCreary is probably most people's dream choice, but I don't know how likely that is.

Most likely I think it will be Fiedel overseeing an RCP composer, probably someone like Henry Jackman.

Stylistically, I think Clint Mansell will be an interesting choice. Somehow, I am surprised that Brian Tyler hasn't found his way to this franchise yet.

What do you guys think?

I rather this franchise be put out of it's misery already than speculate about who should score Terminator 6. Hollywood is determine on running this franchise into the ground.

To be fair there are multiple franchises Hollywood wants to run into the ground, so it's not just picking on The Terminator.

I’m really on board to have Tom Holkenborg give it a shot. I’m sure he can set the right tone and add a fresh voice.

I agree that the Junk would be perfect for this film.

If Balfe is not returning then I think the likely candidates are Holkenborg, Tyler or Wallfisch (particularly if anything about Shazam turns out to be a hit - music or not)

If I were to choose from the above-mentioned, I'd go for Wallfisch.

If I were free to choose someone irrespective of the odds and possibilities, I'd go for Don Davis - provided he is in his top form, happy eager and willing.

John Frizzell and Christopher Young could also be good choices too.

Talk about some useless updates...

Considering Holkenborg dropped out of Deadpool 2 because Miller left the project, he's probably the most likely candidate.

The fact he can be linked to two James Cameron productions makes me somewhat nervous for the Avatar films...

In my wildest dreams it would be the one and only Brad Fiedel scoring the movie solo with enough resources to go all out, even fully orchestral if he wanted.

If not him, James Newton Howard, Steven Price, Bear McCreary, Chris Tilton or Howard Shore would be most welcome.

In reality, it'll probably be Zimmer or someone along those lines.

If only to prove conclusively that his agent doesn't hate his breathing guts, I nominate John Frizzell.

Brad Fiedel wants to come back, sort off.

"I have my original projects that I want to create in the coming years so I’m devoting my time to those. If Jim wanted my help I would be happy to be involved in some way to help conceive the musical approach and theme direction for a reboot, but probably not the cue by cue scoring."

John Frizzell would be fantastic for Terminator. What has he done since Alien: Resurrection a good two decades ago? That was a fantastic score.
