TMNT and LP's -- a double whammy of the 1990's.

Yeah, CD's were still coming in, at least in the stores I saw.

Hopefully this is just a nice precursor to the eventual CD from LLL.

Pure utter speculation, but perhaps what you are hearing is how the cue was originally recorded for the film. The version is the film may have used the take without percussion overlays and moved the overlays as the editor thought worked.

It'll pick up more nicks than a manhole cover with that sleeve, but dang there it is. A release from LLL would have no doubt presented alternates, a considerable booklet, etc. Oh well. Good to see it!

I listened to the samples, and it seems like I remembered more of this score than I thought I would. It's pretty mind-boggling to think that the score has never been released before now (and I had no idea this was out from October on vinyl, either), and so I'm really happy to see Waxwork Records putting it out on CD as well rather than simply confining it to a trendy LP release in several variants. One thing that really amused me is that the track "Crimewave", has some very strong similarities to the score for A Fish Called Wanda two years earlier, and of course, on looking it up, John Du Prez scored that film, as well. In fact, it would seem that the three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films are sort of an anomaly in his filmography. Now all I need is for someone to put some or all of Unsolved Mysteries on CD, given that I did buy that 3-LP set from Terror Vision last year.
