Oh, so he chose some music never played before in concerts. Great! I'm looking forward to the Budapest concert tomorrow!

He's coming here to Oslo on Monday. Hopefully, my accreditation comes through so I get to see him for the second (and presumably last) time.

Farewell to the "other" greatest living film composer imo. He was a trendsetting, landmark composer, and I consider H8teful 8 to be one of his finest moments (I especially love the perhaps nostalgic shades of Bernard there).

The Maestro already performed on several occasions a mini suite of NOVECENTO gathering the main theme and Olmo e Alfredo but can you be more specific about LEGAMI (TIE ME UP, TIE ME DOWN). Did he play the main theme? It's a favourite of mine and I pity the fact I never heard it live.

Thanks in advance.

In the meantime, I remember he played a 9' suite of ATAME / LEGAMI in Venice (unfortunately not available on the related CD/DVD) but it can be spotted on this rare 2 CD set:

http://www.chimai.com/index.cfm?module=MUS&mode=ALB&id=4346

I guess he must have opted for the same suite in Berlin. By the way, I remember that the Maestro and Almodovar both showed up in Berlin at the time of the release of the movie. So it is certainly not a coincidence that this score was played in Berlin last night.

I saw that he also included Ostinato Ricercare per un' immagine in the programme. What did he not include?

Fantastic concert in Budapest yesterday! The Maestro seemed to be in very good shape and he seemed to enjoy the evening as much as the audience. The selections were great, with many new pieces never heard before in concerts.

And the icing on the cake: thanks to God and a member of the Hungarian crew I managed to get a couple of CD booklets signed by Ennio! smile

As far as I know he didn't give interviews here either. No matter how vivid he seemed on the stage I think that at 90 he mostly just wants to relax before/after the concerts.

Perfectly understandable.

It's just that he's one of the few top film composers currently alive I've been unable to meet.

Keki, like Mathias I’d like to know what changes were exactly brought into the programme compared to previous concerts such as Paris or Brussels in November 2018. If he kicked off with THE UNTOUCHABLES, NOVECENTO and included the lengthy OSTINATO RICERCARE, I guess he had to eliminate the whole FOGLI SPARSI suite from the 1st part and then segued straight into NOSTROMO and The Leone suite, did he? Thanks in advance.
