All I know is that I have no CDs that begin with a comma. I do, however, have a few (not sure exactly how many) that begin with a boldfaced, italicized ampersand.

Shostakovich’s 2nd string quartet, 1st violin concerto and 15th symphony, amongst other works, all start with A. Well, A minor in the case of the violin concerto.

I'm sure many of us have got the one that starts with an asterisk.
I always wonder whether I should shelve that one right at the end of my collection, as it's a footnote.

No. 6-4=2

You have gone where no man has gone before.

Just a few sandwiches short of a Picnic

You have Splinters in the Windmills of your Mind.

Just a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

I think you need to have read Number 6's previous post to understand his point

I was rather thinking it was the other way around -- the previous post being arguably just a not-too-bright question from some newby who doesn't get it about movies and the well-understood connection between music and emotion. This thread, however, demonstrates beyond a doubt that this guy is just pranking us, and having a big laugh at the expense of the good hearted members here who are kind (or credulous) enough to give this foolishness a serious response. But don't let me interrupt this enlightening discussion of that profound film music question: how many cds to you have that start with the letter Z?

Gosh guys. Really?

I dunno.....maybe I'm too gullible but I just thought the post that inspired this was by someone whose first language is not English and struggled to get his (or her) point across.

I found the reactions to the poster's original thread overly hostile to be honest...

He (or she) is either someone who is not fluent in English which then makes the instant outrage lacking in understanding...

Or he (or she) is a troll - in which case the instant outrage got the response they wanted.

As someone that has his scores alphabetized and neatly organized on expensive shelving, I LIKED the post about scores that begin with letter Z. And so did the many people who responded.

I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered!

So what then is the point of asking how many soundtracks we have whose titles start with this or that letter? Is that really a question that will lead to some insight about film music, or stimulate a substantive discussion about some meaningful aspect of film music? The question is not really even about film music. Please enlighten me!

I apologize for questioning your intelligence, just mainly couldn't see that what you posted was serious. (Your second thread further made me doubt your sincerity!) I would recommend that you read through some of the other threads on this message board to get a flavor for what people are talking about here, and join in on any of them that might be of interest to you. A comment about the topic under discussion, or your own reaction to something that is said there, for example. Maybe we can all just start over again.

By the way people give their opinion, i sometime have the feeling that i am in a Heavy metal or Rap music forum ! I thought film music fans were a little bit more serious and open minded !
