Here's the trailer!

And here is our new Indiegogo campaign to raise money to press a Blu-ray/soundtrack release:

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/sky-fighter-sci-fi-short-film-blu-ray-release/x/18004894#/

The finished film is available to watch NOW for DONORS ONLY! (We have to keep it off the Internet publicly or it won't be eligible for film festivals.)

I just sent the email blast to our 2018 donors with the link to the movie.

Thank you all for your terrific support and look forward to hearing what you think of the film!

I liked the nod to Star Trek II's opening....In The 26th Century.......

I'll watch the whole film when I get home today.

Thanks!

Haha yes, that's one of my faves. Nick Meyer put that opening card at the beginning of Star Trek II (the first time they actually nailed down the time period, incidentally) so his dad would know when it was!

Well that...was worth the wait!!! big grin Just watched it on my lunch break.

Really loved how it turned out Lukas. The effects were phenomenal. The set pieces were also fantastic, I really loved the mechanism used for targeting, and the neck piece with the rotating blue lights. Hats off to the actors too, excellent performances.

The score really reminded me of Shire's 2010 which is a personal favorite of mine. Very much looking forward to the Blu-ray/CD combo now. Anyone reading this who didn't fund the film first time around, if you enjoy an electronic score with a lot of blaster beam flavour this one is for you.

Thanks Ryan! Yes, really wanted to evoke that early 1980s synth world—2010, Runaway, Blue Thunder. The blaster beam is not a real beam of course but a cool emulator that the composer, Bobby Villarreal, programmed. Thank you for watching!

Hey Lukas, I really enjoyed it. You used the time wisely, didn't beat the audience over the head with exposition, but instead just launch us into the middle of the story and take us along for the ride. Kind of reminded me of Memento in space, hope you take that as the compliment I intend it as! For whatever good it will do, I'm gonna chat this up on my podcast, hopefully our limited audience may be able to attend a festival where this will be showing!

Thank you Darren! "Memento in space" was one of my initial ideas for what I wanted to accomplish by the way! I'll take that!

Damnit, that end credits music is stuck in my head now. Really enjoyed the film. The fact that it didn't go where I thought it would was a pleasant surprise. Hope it leads to bigger things.

Great stuff.

Looks amazing.

Score absolutely has that 80's feel you were going for.

Also, love that font.

Eager to see how this project progresses.

Kudos.

That's neat, Lukas! I hope it gets distributed online somewhere eventually, after it has (hopefully) made its rounds at festival circuits, so that I can be able to see it. The synth score aspect is tantalizing too.

Well, that was disappointing.
I'm not the most tech savvy guy, but I followed the link on my tablet, typed in the password, but after the opening title card (26th Century) and music blast, the whole thing kept freezing at the 9 second in mark!!
So I tried it on my phone, repeated the steps, and got to hear the thing but could only watch a green and purple distortion show, which still kept freezing.
Has anyone else viewed it outside the USA?
Please help.

Kev, I am so sorry. I have occasionally had that issue with Vimeo myself. I don't have any explanation for it. It is pretty much the #1 website used for professional video production/sharing, etc.

I also have the movie on Dropbox, a link I am not giving out because I don't want people to download the file, but if you want to email me at Lukas@filmscoremonthly.com I can share it with you, I trust you.

Thanks mate.
I'm turning in for the night now, but I'll drop you a line tomorrow (or soon).
And I appreciate your trust (but you needn't worry, I am completely incapable of sharing anything!!
I can't even embed a video around here!!!).

OK. I've watched it all now.

The score reminds me of Silvestri's Cat's Eye much of the time. Very good production values. The in-camera visual effects/animations are top-notch. The ship was similar to the Gunstar from The Last Starfighter.

I admit I was hoping to see an end-credits list of fundraiser contributor names. That would have been fun. Perhaps it wasn't allowed ( privacy issues) or no time to do it? No worries, though. I'm glad you're following your dream, Lukas, and am glad we helped you do it.

Hi Adam, thanks for watching and for your support! The end credits do list many of the contributor names, but not all (as detailed in the perk offerings) for space reasons.

Lukas, I was thrilled to see the email earlier today and finally got a chance to watch the entire film tonight and it was awesome. You had me at "In the 26th century." The young actors were excellent and I thought the score fit perfectly. I found the special effects to be very impressive.

I want to congratulate you on this accomplishment and seeing this to fruition. I can't wait to see the reaction of the public.

Thanks for sharing this.

Ditto to what Edw said so perfectly. Congratulations and may this be the start of even bigger things. Thanks for sharing.
