I'm fairly confident I've done this topic before, but I couldn't find it.
Anyway, to keep up with the positive re-ignition of the board atmosphere, I'm curious about which FSM members you've met in real life before? How was it? What was the setting? How did it differ from the personality you had encountered online, or did it?
I've met more of you than I can count, and I have my own stories to share, but first I want to hear from you guys.
I've met Tall Guy a few times and Warlock several times, but neither for a long time. Both are top chaps.
Tall Guy is as tall as his name suggests. We met in Manchester a couple of times, and on one occasion we were having a pint and were serenaded by a passing mariachi band. Which was very random, and actually true.
Warlock didn't conjure any demons, but did gift me several Star Trek CDs and games soundtrack CDs to expand my listening, which was very generous of him.
I would recommend meeting either of them, if you got the chance. Though you'd have to be in Saskatchewan for one and Oop North for t'other.
Tall Guy is a superb person; he could even relate to my complete lack of humour. I've met him twice, and even have a pic of our first encounter in Newcastle.
I met Joan Hue when she came over. She hit me with 5 of those Machete-style throwing knives as i ran out the hotel reception. Quite a few stitches in A&E later that day. Never upset her, the woman is lethal!

I haven't met any, but the bit that I quoted from Thor's original post interests me. It doesn't surprise me that all feedback has been positive so far. I think that we're probably all pretty decent lads and lassies, but some of us might like to hide behind an irascible facade online. I wonder if the opposite is true too - People you expect to be pleasant in real life and turn out to be real gits. But then again, they'd probably just stay in their basements and not be sociable enough to go out and meet anyone.
