hmm... I guess the only positive thing about it is that Intrada has Netflix access and perhaps this will finally lead to release of some true and neglected gems... unless the original album was released by Back Lot just like several others they've released on CDs over the past 2 years...
That's goo d news. When MV said that "No" to LLL releasing it (in the MV Questions thread) I thought for sure that it wasn't getting a physical release. I'm glad its coming out. I haven't watched it yet but I really liked Hill House (both the show and the music) so I'm looking forward to this as well.
No idea if there will be any other releases next month.
Maybe I missed the credit but who is the composer?
The Newton Brothers. I could be a prick like some on this forum and make some snarky comment dressed as assistance that tries to make you look stupid for missing it right there on the cover, but I'm not going to do that because I'm wearing my big boy pants today. Also I missed it at first, too.
^ The score is AMAZING! Even better than Hill House, imo. Will order this as soon as its available.
Agreed, The main title cue and primary theme is really good
Yeah, that theme they use for the main titles is amazing. And luckily there's a few more versions of it on this album!
I also really like the Beginning of the End Movements. At first I could really tell the difference of them all as they all have the same theme. But today (after maaany listens) I think that Movement number 4, 6 and 7 are my favorites.

The credit could be interpreted as the Netflix series being by The Newton Brothers, not the music. Nobody thinks Warner Brothers writes their own music.

Or is the score actually supposed to be any good?
Its a Paramount production, not Netflix. Paramount has the license
I couldn’t find any credit to Georges Auric and Paul Dehn for their song “O Willow Waly” from the 1961 film “The Innocents” which is prominently featured in the show. The series is clearly inspired by it. Did I miss it or is it not there.

I just checked. It’s not on the CD. Very interesting.
