Thank you Intrada! How much music was missing from the original soundtrack album?

Over 20 minutes according to this breakdown, but it doesn’t even take into account significant alternates which we know exist:

I was just listening to this score this week and wondered if any label would be able to remaster and re-release it - the universe answered!

If nothing else 2020 will go down as a bumper year for great releases.

Most excellent. Always wanted the expanded score. The original album had to be repressed due to mastering errors. I forgot about that alternate poster art. They had to recall it due to 9/11 for obvious reasons.

Will totally order this ASAP.

I remember getting a UK replacement disc from Decca which fixed the problems of the US disc. Can’t remember the missing music for this one. Obviously the Mark McKenzie action music for the helicopter sequence. Shame JG did not score that really.

I remember the day this score was released.
Its the only copy on the shelves. It had some kinda weird security contraption on it that required a tool to remove.
The young lady at the register nearly broke it in half trying to take it off. She cracked both the front and back of the jewel case. And when she did it, she paused a bit, looked at me a gave me a smirk. I'll never forget that.

Soundtrack is missing several incredible action cues written by Mark Mackenzie... can’t wait!

A very fine score, look forward to it.
A good example of older era and newer era Goldsmith compositional style merged into a modern piece.
A nice noble score.

I remember liking this score but I didn't play it much so I don't actually remember the music. Your description sounds about right. I'll have to sample the score again. Perhaps another surprise gem to close out the year.

There is a spiritual quality to the horns, Goldsmith did that for so long, so many years, he was so good at making a horn like a human spirit. Not one of his most complex works, but it serves well, and in these days it comes across as a full bodied work.

I've seen the film, but I have no memory of it whatsoever. Doesn't bode well. I think I sampled the Goldsmith score once upon a time, but it didn't do anything for me - like most of his 2000s work. Take that for what it's worth.

Never heard it, never seen it, gonna buy it - because it's Goldsmith!

I'm gonna have to give this another spin. I got the original right after the film opened and at the time, did really nothing for me. And Goldsmith worked on this with 9/11 happening soon before this release if I remember correctly, has an cue with an ode to 9/11.

Yeah he allegedly wrote it on that day.

Just dug out my CD of this score (bought from eBay cheap a few years back...I never really fell for it while watching the cheesy - but enjoyable - film at the cinema. But my love of then current Goldsmith scores was on the wane post 90s).
Maybe it will have improved with age?
