I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the bolded parts of what LLL wrote; maybe they missed it amid the jokes about The Blue Max being given yet another edition (hey guys it's out of print again; do you think it should be?) But for me, it was easily the most exciting part of LLL's Black Friday announcement: previously unreleased Jerry Goldsmith at 20th Century Fox music is coming next year! So, prompted by a request from Jay at JWFan, I thought I'd provide a list of everything Goldsmith did for the studio (that I'm aware of -- it's possible there's another unsold pilot or something I don't know about; I only found out about one of these this past year), so we fans can speculate and get excited here about what might be coming...
Since I'm also excited by the fact that this is a series for his scores for film *and* television, I have split TV off into its own list. Titles in bold have not yet been released complete on CD (but in some cases it is because cues are lost and that's impossible.)

6/19/63 The Stripper (I always assumed the 2001 FSM premiere release was complete as their releases usually were, but surprisingly it doesn't explicitly claim to be in the liner notes booklet or on the product page; its pairing on the disc, Nick Quarry, is on the other hand stated to be the complete score. So perhaps there's room for expansion on this title, however slight, and probably a good chance of improved sound on a reissue.)
11/13/63 Take Her, She's Mine (A handful of cues are missing from the Intrada premiere album earlier this year, which will probably remain forever lost/unsalvageable. We're lucky to have gotten anything!)
7/22/64 Shock Treatment (I've heard there's a single cue missing from the Intrada 2013 expansion, around three minutes in length. I have yet to verify.)
9/30/64 Fate Is the Hunter (As far as I know the 2013 Intrada expansion is complete.)
10/28/64 Rio Conchos (The FSM and far better-sounding Kritzerland and La-La Land editions are all complete.)
6/23/65 Von Ryan's Express (Someone on the FSM board claimed there was a short cue still omitted from the 2013 Intrada expansion; it hasn't been added to the new LLL version so perhaps it was tracked in or perhaps it is lost. I have yet to verify, comparing against the film.)
8/25/65 Morituri (The new Intrada expansion from earlier this year is finally complete, restoring about a minute of music that was edited out on the FSM due to damage.)
10/7/65 The Artist Who Did Not Want to Paint (Varese Sarabande twice released this complete; I also highly recommend the complete Intrada recording with the London Symphony Orchestra from the late 80s under Goldsmith's baton.)
1/16/66 Our Man Flint (The more recent Intrada Flint twofer is of the unique album recordings. The Varese twofer from the 90s is only about half of each Flint score film recording; the Twilight Time Blu-ray features a full isolated music-only score track, but it replicates film micro-edits and actually omits some music present on the album. We need a true complete-as-recorded edition on CD, but album rights lie with Varese in perpetuity.)
6/15/66 Stagecoach (Intrada released the unique album recording from original tapes; the FSM and later LLL edition are the film recording, both complete length-wise but the LLL adds a few previously missing overlays.)
6/21/66 The Blue Max (The LLL edition is complete, and IMO the best sounding release of this score's film recording.)
12/20/66 The Sand Pebbles (The still in-print Intrada 2CD edition released in 2011 is the most complete, but one cue "A Crushing Affair" had to be taken from a music-and-effects source.)

5/28/68 The Detective (Varese, Intrada, and now LLL have all released the same 12 track program which omits the source music and most importantly, two score cues, "The Execution" and "The Killing". The Twilight Time Blu-ray isolated score track does include these, although the latter, more important, cue has some minor sound effects as it came from a music and effects source. Since the disc was only 53 minutes long I really wish these cues had been included.)
6/1/68 Bandolero! (The later Intrada and remastered LLL editions are both complete.)
3/26/69 100 Rifles (The FSM and remastered LLL editions are both complete.)
6/25/69 The Chairman (The Varese at Fox box premiered one previously unreleased cue in a suite, which made it to the digital release of the score. Apart from that the rest of the score appears lost, as even the Mattesino-produced Twilight Time Blu-ray isolated score track had to resort to a music-and-effects (and a lot of spoken Chinese, alas) track. We need a complete new recording of this masterpiece from the original written scores.)
8/6/69 Justine (According to the post from chromaparadise/John O'Callaghan below on May 16, 2021, there are at least four cues from the film recording which the Varese Deluxe Edition omitted)
4/2/70 Patton (The still in-print 2010 Intrada 2CD edition features both the complete film recording and album recording together.)
9/23/70 Tora! Tora! Tora! (The FSM and later remastered LLL editions are both complete.)
5/26/71 Escape from the Planet of the Apes (The Varese Club standalone CD and LLL PotA box set editions are both complete.)
6/11/71 The Mephisto Waltz (The Varese 90s CD paired with The Other is supposedly complete length-wise, but is a weird mix and leaves off certain overlays and sweeteners, so needs a new edition a la Planet of the Apes.)
5/26/72 The Other (Released as a single 22-minute track "bonus suite" with The Mephisto Waltz in the 90s, over half of this score is unreleased on CD. As with the Flint scores, the Twilight Time Blu-ray has an excellent isolated music track, but this features film edits and there is still music on the CD suite but not on the iso. A new complete-as-recorded edition on CD is a must.)
4/1/73 Ace Eli and Rodger of the Skies (I always assumed the 2001 FSM premiere release was complete as their releases usually were, but surprisingly it doesn't explicitly claim to be in the liner notes booklet or on the product page; its pairing on the disc, Room 222, is on the other hand stated to be everything Goldsmith recorded for that series. 9/5/74 S*P*Y*S (The Varese Goldsmith at Fox box is missing at least a third of the score. I always hoped that tapes for the John Scott score for the international release of the film might be found and included on a twofer with this, though if it ends up expanded in LLL's series that now seems unlikely.)
3/14/75 Ransom (aka The Terrorists) (The complete film recording appears lost; the miserable-sounding and terribly produced original LP appears to be the only surviving music source for this score, of which a decent chunk remains unreleased.)
10/29/75 Take a Hard Ride (The FSM and later remastered LLL editions are both complete.)
6/25/76 The Omen (Technically the Varese 40th Anniversary Edition is lacking a clean ending to one cue it crossfades with another, but otherwise it is complete. That clean ending can meanwhile be found on the isolated score track on certain editions of the film.)
10/21/77 Damnation Alley (The Intrada expansion is complete-as-composed, thanks to Leigh Phillips re-performing most of the synth elements in 2017. The original synth overlays have apparently been lost to time, so technically the film performance with those remains unreleased until and unless those are uncovered somehow.)
6/9/78 Damien: Omen II (The Varese Deluxe Edition features both the unique album recording and complete film recording, but the latter suffers from damage on certain cues and could probably be repaired and remastered to sound a lot better, given advances in technology over the past couple decades since its release.)
11/8/78 Magic (The Varese premiere CD was missing a single 23 second cue, which the later LLL edition added making the score truly complete.)
5/25/79 Alien (The 2007 Intrada 2 CD release features all the music recorded for the film.)
3/20/81 The Final Conflict (The Varese Deluxe Edition left off four cues; here's hoping this gets a 40th Anniversary Edition next year just like the original Omen score.)
10/7/88 Alien Nation (unused) (The Varese CD and Kritzerland reissue are both complete.)

rec. 1974 The Best of Times (unaired, unsold pilot) (I found this in the UCLA archives and what a premiere it could be, if found in the vaults! Sounds like it would be Goldsmith's An American Tail... 6/18/75 A Girl Named Sooner (Goldsmith's final known TV project for Fox; the only edition is the FSM paired with The Flim-Flam Man, and it is supposed to be complete although its companion score was said to be as well, but just got expanded, so one never knows.)
So Jerry did at least 28 scores for Fox (that we know of) in the 60s (21 film scores and 7 TV scores), 23 scores for Fox in the 70s (14 film scores and 9 TV scores), only 2 film scores in the 80s, and 5 in the 90s. I am excluding the Fox films The Culpepper Cattle Co. and The Last Hard Men, which re-used his music from other Fox productions. The latter did get unique recordings of those pieces conducted by Lionel Newman, which Intrada released complete in 2012 along with the Leonard Rosenman rejected score. As with Pursuit, Fox seems to have perhaps had some involvement with The Boys from Brazil, but Intrada's expanded release of that score doesn't mention Fox anywhere in the fine print so I don't think it's something they own tapes or music rights to.
So...what possibilities are folks here most excited for? I think for me it's having everything Goldsmith wrote and recorded for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, S*P*Y*S, and also those completely unreleased TV items if they can be found in the vaults: The Best of Times, Prudence and the Chief, Bracken's World, The Legend of Jesse James... I also very much want everything Goldsmith wrote for Anna and the King, but I'd kinda prefer that get its own release outside of this Goldsmith at 20th series, because upon watching the show I was actually super impressed by the quality of dramatic music other composers supplied to the series as well. If LLL is able to do a fuller series soundtrack release along the lines of the Planet of the Apes TV series (or at least a single full disc if not two), that would make me really happy.

I'm pretty sure all of these were licensed before the transition was completed. Mike Mattesino reached out to the labels for their wishlists early last year. You'll learn more in a Goldsmith Odyssey podcast with him, releasing later this week, about Take Her, She's Mine. We may do one on the new Goldsmith at 20th series too.

The Satan Bug is not Fox but United Artists, licensed by FSM from MGM. Thanks for the reminder about the missing overlay; didn't realize it was also used in the underscore. Maybe it'll be found and released on a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Volume 2, some day.

It would be wonderful to get a release of Anna and the King including the scores by Richard Shores.
I'm still working my way through the series (I might have finished it by now if I had it in English, but it's only been released in German, outside the pilot episode), but his scores are *excellent*, and I was also impressed with Arthur Morton's score for the third episode, "The Baby" -- he provides excellent development of the Goldsmith while also writing a lovely new theme and other ideas.
Great work as always, Yavar, thanks for listing this. THE OTHER is the primary score from this list that I would want, seeing as how the of my favorite Goldsmith/Fox scores have had deluxe, complete, sonically sound releases. I didn't realize there was missing source cues from THE DETECTIVE, though?
To be fair, I have no idea if they were arranged/recorded specifically for this film, or if they were in the Fox library of source cues or something, and tracked in. My audio rip of the excellent Mike Mattesino-produced Twilight Time Blu-ray isolated track runs 25 minutes long, including two unreleased source cues: "Hot Dog" from A Certain Smile, by Sammy Fain & Paul Francis Webster, which comes between "The School Dance" and "A New Love"... and something called "The Bar" ("Again", by Lionel Newman & Dorcas Cochran) which is connected to Jerry's "The Ball Game" cue. Then there's the sound effects-free score cue "The Execution" in between the released cues "Karen's Story" and "Night Talk", and the much more important but with minor sound effects cue, "The Killing" -- this comes right before "Joe's Decision" (End Titles) and is actually the longest cue in the score.

I think for LLL to tout "previously unreleased music" coming up in their press release, some of these upcoming things have to be more substantial expansions than the 51 seconds that just got added to The Flim-Flam Man.

This looks a really nice series. I remember way back in 2004 when Varese released JERRY GOLDSMITH at 20TH CENTURY FOX, and how that became a bit of a collector's item. To get these dusted off again, even after having the newer re-issues of many of these titles since the Fox Box, is an okay thing to me, especially for keeping them in print and available to a newer generation.
I have some thoughts and "fantasies" about what we fans may have coming our way in the next year.
I for one would LOVE to see this happen
GOLDSMITH at 20TH Vol. (??) - THE OMEN TRILOGY
(Forgive my use of the question marks, since this totally "hypothetical" release lives only in my imagination, and if such a set were to happen, then this is kind of how I would see them branding it.
And who knows what the Volume number would even be!)
I can almost imagine it looking somewhat like their PLANET OF THE APES set, with a nice slipcase, maybe be a 3 CD Set or more? Hard to say, depending on what is unearthed.
THE OMEN - The 40th Anniversary CD from Varese was a solid product, and I love how they brought back that cool key cover art. I don't see too many improvements being made here, except perhaps maybe we could get the film takes of the cues? My ear insists that the Varese CDs only give us the album takes and slightly different takes of the music as heard in the film. And also it would be nice if anything else could be uncovered, like the film version of "The Dog", and the whisper chants heard near the end of the movie.
DAMIEN OMEN II - This goes without saying -- the Varese is well out of print. I am sure current tech could really bring the sound up to par also.
THE FINAL CONFLICT -- The Varese release from 2001 is a terrific disc with vastly improved sound, but I truly believe we could get an even better sound mix with current tech and really knock this one out of the park. Plus we could get the unreleased material still out there for this one....

Another dream release I would appreciate would be this:
GOLDSMITH AT 20th Vol. (??): THE MEPHISTO WALTZ & THE OTHER
This one would be a 2CD set (to my mind). Disc 1 (Mephisto) featuring all of the material recorded for the film and with all of the sweeteners intact, and in first generation sound. Hey, a man can dream, right?. Disc 2 would be all of The Other in great sound and complete. And with separately indexed tracks this time.

GOLDSMITH at 20TH Vol. (??) - THE OMEN TRILOGY
I would support this.
THE OMEN itself doesn't really warrant a new release, although, as you said, some things could be done.
For instance, 'The Altar' and the opening title version of Ave Satani could be presented separately, allowing the full ending of 'The Altar' to be heard instead of lost in the join. It would also allow the opening title version of Ave Satani to be put at the front, and the end title version at the end.
If it exists (it seemingly doesn't), the whispering that we hear when Thorn and the dog stalk each other, which remains mysteriously absent...
And although the revised 'dog' cue was not Goldsmith but library music overdubbed with a splatting synth, it would be cool if that could be on it, because it was a cool track.
But in and of itself, it's not a title that needs re-doing.
DAMIEN—OMEN II, however, as you say, is well out of print and could stand a sonic improvement that may now be possible. And THE FINAL CONFLICT could be made definitive.
And if you're doing those two, you may as well make it a trilogy set and do those final tweaks on THE OMEN.
Yes, I would love that.

Bumping this for the announcement of Volume III today — since it’s S*P*Y*S (19 minutes released by Varese) and The Stripper (45 minutes on the FSM) as a two disc set, that must mean there is substantially more new music than I could have imagined! Great news.
