What composer has scored the most sequels generally, BUT NEVER THE ORIGINAL OF THE SERIES?

RULES

- - They can only have scored a sequel, but never the first movie.

- - TV and direct-to-video DON'T count. Features only (We're keeping this a horse race!).

- - NO SCATTERSHOT ANSWERS (E.G. "Oh, John Oldsmith did tons. More than 5. Yeah.") You've gotta name the actual titles.

So JG doesn't get credit for any STAR TRACKS
JW ditto, for THE JAWS, THE STAR WARS, INDIANAPOLIS JONES, and HARVY POTTER.

For instance:

Laurence Rosenthal has 2
ROOSTER COGBURN
RETURN OF THE MAN CALLED HORSE

So does Lee Holdridge
OLIVER'S STORY
OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN PART 2
(SECRET OF NIMH 2 is disallowed; it was direct-to-video)

I've thought of 3 composers: 2 of whom did 4 films. Can you out-nerd me?

Barry with the Bond films is the obvious choice that I can think of atm.

Debatable! Since there's debate about his participation in the theme....

Barry with the Bond films is the obvious choice that I can think of atm.

Also, I neglected to disallow him since it IS so obvious.

Fair enough--it was low hanging fruit.

Surely there was something in the Marvel series that fits this description?

Or what about the Jack Ryan series? Poledouris then Horner X2 then...Goldsmith? I lost track after Clear and Present Danger.

Adam B. literally just literally just beat on every title I had in my head, but generated a new answer:

On PotA, the new films are supposed to be in the same PotA-verse, only prequels, so you can add Giacchino to Rosenman.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned ICE AGE yet. David Newman scored the original, John Powell scored no less than three sequels!

Robert Folk. Even if you discount the direct-to-video titles (*coughBSrulecough*), there's still:

Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace
The Neverending Story 2
Major League: Back to the Minors
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time

Basil Poledouris has

Under Siege 2: Dark Territory
Hot Shots! Part Deux
Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles
And if IMDb is accurate, If These Walls Could Talk 2 and Nasty Boys Part 2...anyone know anything about those?

Plus The Legend of Butch and Sundance (disqualified by you for being a TV movie)

"And if IMDb is accurate, If These Walls Could Talk 2 and Nasty Boys Part 2...anyone know anything about those??

Both of these are accurate and TV movies, so disqualified.

The first was actually a replacement score:

Let’s get Golden Age!

Franz Waxman:
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
Arsène Lupin Returns (1938)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1939) — not sure if this one counts?
Demetrius and the Gladiators (1954)

Cliff Eidelman:

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
My Girl 2
Free Willy 3: The Rescue
And does The Lizzie McGuire Movie count? It’s a film sequel to a TV series (which he did not score).

"So JG doesn't get credit for any STAR TRACKS"

What is this thing STAR TRACKS you speak of?

Leonard Rosenman - Beneath the POTA and Battle for the POTA

And Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Robocop 2...

Yeah, I was about to add those. Rosenman seemed to be the go-to guy for sequels where he did not score the original.

Michael Giacchino scored Mission Impossible 3 and 4.
