SEASON 1:
"Such Dust as Dreams Are Made On" (first pilot) By: Richard Hazard (and conductor) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs8f_ksVU9Y Highlights: 0:00 in.^ 9:44 in. This is presumably what would have been Hazard's theme music for the series, had a second pilot not been made and scored not by him.^ 18:12 in.^ 33:16 in.^ 34:13 in.^ 49:14 in. 54:04 in. 1:12:34 in.^ 1:14:39 in.^ (Note to Me: composer credit at: 1:15:10) "Smile Jenny, You're Dead" (second pilot) By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6hVLGcy-G4 Highlights: 0:00 in.^ 2:47 in.^ 17:33 in.^ 24:55 in.^ 29:25 in. 40:07 in.^ 50:37 in. Also includes some chase music.^ 1:09:35 in. 1:13:44 in.^ 1:21:48 in.^ 1:27:31 in.^(1:28:10) A moody score with some tense touches and dark strains. "Gertrude" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QcAbgG_fkk Highlights: 14:19 in. 17:06 in. 21:41 in. 33:13 in. 41:33 in. 49:06 in. "Gertrude" to "Mortal Sin": I wrote down notes to what to rip before I started this, as about a week prior those episodes popped up on another channel and I thought there wouldn't be anymore. No up-arrow notes needed for them on here; that's needlessly redundant. "The Admiral's Lady" By: Kim Richmond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNL6BN7yGTM Highlights: 1:00 in. 16:07 in. 25:35 in. Joining a cue already in progress. 28:32 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 37:26 in. 46:19 in. And the cue after the commercial break. For the guys here: 20:42 in. You're welcome. And 26:10 in: Legs ahoy!

Continuing SEASON 1:
"Guardian at the Gates" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEWwqiHUESU Highlights: 1:07 in. 12:07 in. 18:05 in. 24:52 in. 30:02 in. 34:29 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 40:48 in. 42:42 in. 49:49 in. 50:59 in. "Mortal Sin" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znjqasUGopA Highlights: 1:00 in. 9:52 in. 12:22 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 24:38 in. 38:25 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 41:22 in. 44:03 in. "Coinage of the Realm" By: Richard Hazard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A94ud2boXrg This is the final effort by Hazard for the series. Highlights: 12:05 in. 20:27 in. Triangle, pizzicato strings and other percussion. 29:11 in. More of the above. 32:24 in. 46:56 in. 51:08 in. This is the first episode of an older television series that I can recall having the lead villains being strongly implied, but not out-right indicated, as being homosexual lovers. 43:53 in: airplane porn. "Eyewitness" By: J. J. Johnson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5NUwusI3yE Highlights: 1:08 in.^ 4:52 in. 13:44 in. The short outtro and the cue after the commercial break.^(both) 17:19 in.^ 20:06 in.^ 26:33 in.^ 45:24 in.(parts) 49:37 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ "Shadows at Noon" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWyAPLZ8jyQ Highlights: 1:06 in.^ 4:46 in. 8:41 in.^ 15:56 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both, parts) 19:04 in.^ 22:41 in. 26:44 in.^ 30:20 in. 34:59 in. 37:18 in. 40:45 in. 47:52 in.^ 49:22 in. A surprising effort from Clements (given what I've heard from him before). Another example of a composer making a excellent score for the emotionally disturbed. Perhaps he should have gotten an Emmy nomination for this.

Tomorrow: two new composers on the show, including Jim Helms (yeah, he worked on it -- surprise).

This is the first episode of an older television series that I can recall having the lead villains being strongly implied, but not out-right indicated, as being homosexual lovers. I don't know if it counts, but the third part of the V for Vashon trilogy on Hawaii Five-O in 1972 had two characters, but not the lead villains, very obviously pegged as homosexual lovers. It was a judge who helped solidify a frame against McGarrett and his sexual preference was used as leverage: "You're getting what's coming to you, you old queen!"

Finishing SEASON 1:
"The Last Heir" By: Jim Helms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya5yj_tydDM Highlights: 1:26 in.^ 5:30 in. 7:33 in.^ 14:22 in.^(14:33) 17:37 in.^ 20:22 in.(maybe) 24:16 in. 26:46 in.^ 32:51 in. 35:19 in. 35:55 in.^ 39:16 in. 42:34 in.^ 48:09 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(first) Out-of-context quote... "Speaking of "Happy endings", lady..." "For the Love of Money" By: Kim Richmond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_qXtbFqMnw Highlights: 1:33 in. 8:42 in. 14:37 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both) 20:34 in.^ 26:56 in.^(both) 29:35 in.^ 33:10 in. With a kind of breezy, laid back swing band-like sound over it.^ 50:42 in.^ About 36:00 in: What's the classical music playing? For the guys here: 5:15 in. You're welcome. And 9:38 in. Sexy ninjas -- they just out of nowhere. "The Confetti People" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ldezwF_MhY Highlights: 1:32 in.^ 3:32 in.^ 6:28 in. 12:22 in.^ 22:09 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both) 32:57 in. 36:31 in.^ 38:03 in. 41:27 in. 49:06 in. Nice score that at times comes across as a "Murder, She Wrote" and "Columbo" combo. Especially the 22:09 and cue that follows after the commercial break highlights. "Sound of Trumpets" By: J. J. Johnson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVp-eKy9WM8 This is the final effort by Johnson for the series. Highlights: 0:00 in. 3:46 in. 5:48 in.^(6:01) 8:50 in.^ 11:06 in. Jazz music that could find it's way into "Frazier". 18:17 in.^ 20:44 in.^ 32:39 in. Funky parts and anklungs during one part.^ 39:39 in.^ 44:56 in.^ 46:42 in.^(closing) For the guys here: 31:30 in. You're welcome. Didn't get to se nearly enough of her. "Hey, where am I?" Harry: "Right here." "Lester" By: Fred Werner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUKPcU1G1LU Highlights: 1:33 in.^ 14:16 in. 18:49 in. 19:52 in.^ 27:28 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 30:30 in.^(31:50) 36:05 in.^ 40:08 in.^ 45:14 in.^ 49:19 in. Delightful serious/whimsical lightly bouncy cue. Too much dialogue to use for a suite.

SEASON 2:
I don't particularly care for the series opening theme, but the first season version was better. This second season one has been shortened drastically and made way too synthy. "Anatomy of a Frame" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klrxYCy1QzE Highlights: 3:41 in.^ 48:33 in.^ Serviceable, but weak score. "One for the Road" By: Fred Werner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfVu10N3Syo This is the final effort by Werner for the series. Highlights: 1:31 in.^ 3:42 in.^ 16:37 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(second) 20:16 in. 32:17 in.^ 33:47 in.^(parts) 39:56 in. 42:29 in.^ 49:03 in.^ "Lester Two" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur41JcQIpHc Highlights: 1:31 in.^ 8:44 in. 10:42 in.^ 15:12 in. 16:20 in. 19:52/20:20 in.^ 25:15 in. Accordions for a French-styled arrangement of the theme.^ 34:30 in. Opens with airplane porn. 35:59 in.^ 44:19 in.^ 45:40 in. 5:57 in: glorious airplane porn. "Shades" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsNBhGdAuT4 Highlights: 1:32 in. A harmonica leads.^ 11:27 in.^ 24:30 in. 27:59 in. 40:37 in. 42:16 in. 45:42 in.^ "...you're the only man I know who started from the bottom and went dooowwwnnn..." "Portrait of a Murder" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFwzrRbEge8 Highlights: 0:00 in.^(open) 2:53 in.^ 9:24 in. 14:55 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 24:39 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(second) 29:55 in. 32:59 in.^(part) 48:45 in. On a set of season two scoring, I'm not sure how much of this I would include.

Yes, he did a good score … outside the episode. Inside the episode it's not that fitting and I can understand why he never did another one for the show. He'll be in one of my Curiosity Corner suites this year for another TV show.

Continuing SEASON 2:
"The Acolyte" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUp8_POW1bM Highlights: 0:00 in. 1:31 in.^ 5:35 in. 8:14 in. 14:00 in. 21:24 in.^ 25:31 in. 35:23 in.^ 42:24 in.^ 47:09 in. Guys: stick around after the commercial break for two hots girls in bikinis. "Mayday" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0TcyfQ8GQ4 Highlights: 3:39 in. 10:15 in. Includes airplane porn. 12:54 in.^ 22:54 in. 27:20 in.^(27:33) 39:20 in. Sounds like it could maybe come out of a "Duel" sequel*. 48:11 in.^ For the guys here: 25:40 in. You're welcome. Yeah, it's that sexy brunette in the same red bikini from the prior episode. I'm okay with that. * = The fictional "Duel 2" tagline: "Just when you thought it was safe to get back on the interstate..." "Tender Killing Care" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjhcd9HV4no Highlights: 0:00 in.^(open) 1:33 in.^ 5:56 in.^ 14:07 in. 14:56 in. 25:06 in. 34:19 in. 38:20 in.^ 45:09 in.^ 46:17 in.^ Special note to the acting of the late Bill Henderson. He was in five episodes, four playing the same character. He died 2016 at the age of 90. I didn't note the cue at 8:00 in as a highlight, but I did want to bring it up here because it does something interesting: the cue sounds like it cuts to the radio, therefore it continuing. I can't recall hearing something like that before, though my brain say there may have been something like that in another show I covered. 20:11 in is another one I didn't cite, but I also bring it up because it sounds like Goldenberg wrote the cue to lead into a piece of classical music playing in a scene that is cut to. Another thing I can't readily say I've heard before in a TV show. "APB Harry Orwell" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULE8p7T0HDA Highlights: 1:32 in. 4:21 in. 5:28 in.^ 6:52 in.^ 29:26 in. 32:31 in.^ 36:20 in. "Group Terror" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXOqrXa7uFo Highlights: 2:33 in. The source music cue. 13:47 in.^ 22:52 in. 25:36 in. The source music cue.^ 26:33 in.^ 30:52 in. 31:49 in.^ 37:41 in. 38:41 in.^ 48:03 in. Tomorrow: Jim Helms comes back one more time, and a one-off composer.

"Reflections" By: Billy Goldenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD4TJKF6Irk Highlights: 0:00 in.^(open/close) 3:00 in. 6:46 in.^ 8:52 in.^ 15:38 in. 22:37 in.^ 37:35 in.^ 42:32 in. 32:38 in: airplane porn. You know, I'm thinking Billy Goldenberg would have been an excellent choice for a hypothetical "Vertigo 2". Tagline: "Just when you thought it was safe to climb back a top the light house..." Lt.: "If that bullet had been better aimed, my coffee supply would have been safe forever." "Exercise in Fatality" By: Jim Helms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bewanK_0SpM This is the final effort by Helmes for the series. Highlights: 1:31 in.^ 3:21 in. 7:33 in. 13:28 in. Jazz.^ 21:05 in.^ 22:51 in.^ 39:09 in.^ 47:43 in. "The Madona Legacy" By: Kim Richmond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZniHSo5HhFE Highlights: 15:19 in. 18:32 in.^ 21:48 in. I like how Richmond accented the car part slamming down, with a singular piano stab as a way of beginning the closing notes; rather clever.^ 35:23 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(first) If I were compiling a set of season two scoring, I'd only include the cues cited above (minus the first one). "Mister Five and Dime" By: Jerrold Immel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEAo7d4UAtY This is the only effort by Immel for the series. Highlights: 0:00 in. 1:32 in.^ 29:50 in.^ 33:08 in. 37:34 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(first) 42:15 in. 45:03 in. "Past Imperfect" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg6UKWZyIxs Highlights: 10:35 in. Finishing SEASON 2:
"Hostage" By: John Rubinstein https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv1cTfHm8xQ This is the only effort by Rubinstein for the series. Highlights: 0:00 in. 1:32 in.^ 11:20 in. 15:41 in.^ 19:24 in. 23:23 in. 26:58 in. 30:27 in.^ 31:50 in.^ 36:10 in. 47:22 in. Lt. Trench: "That is the worst coffee I have ever tasted." Harry: "Well, I stole it from your office." "Forbidden City" By: Kim Richmond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18EE2meW4vc Highlights: 9:47 in.^(opening) 13:11 in.^ 15:51 in.^ 19:00 in. 27:41 in. 34:41 in. 38:07 in. 44:43 in. Sounds like something Immel would have done.^ 46:59 in.^ "Victim" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU0NxK7rwRI Highlights: 1:32 in.^ 24:11 in. 26:59 in.^ 29:52 in. 31:46 in. 38:11 in. 45:16 in. 46:00 in. 48:40 in. Sparse, but very effective moody score with interesting orchestral color flourishes and little ideas here and there. I may have cited every single cue. "The Mysterious Case of Lester and Dr. Fong" By: Billy Goldenberg (no conductor credit this time) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a5KMBYt4HE Highlights: 8:14 in. 21:47 in. 24:02 in. 42:35 in. "Death Certificate" By: Richard Clements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUlWAP0jaHg Highlights: 0:00 in.^(opening) 1:33 in. 9:27 in. Followed immediately by airplane porn.^ 14:44 in. 26:43 in.^ 32:37 in. 40:42 in. Jazz-styled action music.^ 45:18 in. Jazz-styled action music.^ I think this is the first time I have ever seen a guest-star playing a medical professional in a wheelchair. 10:36 in: more airplane porn. "Lonely when you're born ... lonely when you die." Seven episodes had no composer credited.

All new links for season one (except where noted). These new videos will have highlight time stamps that are off a little. I only got as far as recording audio for Hazard (suite already up), Johnson, Richmond, and Helms before the prior channel was terminated. The suites will cover all episodes each composer worked on.

All season one links are fixed. I started recording audio again. This new channel is the same guy who had all the "Police Woman" videos up, so I have to wait for those in order to continue Stevens suites.

All links are dead. If anybody has any episode that J.J. Johnson scored and can send me a screen grab of his credit (I'll crop and resize) by Saturday, please do. It's the only composer credit I didn't save a picture of for suites. I got his suites edited up and ready to be made for Monday, but no credit picture.
