The new Godzilla Singular Point Anime series is now on Netflix Japan, starting worldwide on June 24th.
The soundtrack CD will be released on June 21th. Music is by Kan Sawada. The series rocks! A cool, crazy new interpretation of Godzilla and a boatload of other franchise monsters.

Great cover. Can't wait for the soundtrack! Based on what I heard in 5 episodes of the anime, this music is going to be one of the best in Godzilla franchise.

Stick to Holkenborg's then. roll eyes

Ifukube's Godzilla Theme gets a great choir backing in a certain (Godzilla Ultima's first entrance and Shin-Godzilla like destruction scene scene. Without choir it's a slightly re-orchestrated (synth?) version close to Ifukube's original: no "fucking around" with the Master's work big grin

So, how you impressed with Ifukube music then? Because this time it’s written like Ifukube itself. Kan Sawada not only work with Ifukube material, he’s writing like Ifukube, but not copy and paste his techniques (if I’m not mistaken, Sawada was tutored by the Ifukube apprentice), he evolves it (that battle march from 2nd episode is stunning example) and merging it with his own style - the thing, that no one previous composers did. Seriously, sometimes I really could not tell, is that some Ifukube music playing right now, or does it new work by Sawada. It's a rare case, when composer try to sound like another one and successfully achieved the levels of the original. At least, I think he does.

I'm more than happy, that finally there is composer, who not just use original themes, but try to work with Ifukube style and mix it with his own.

To be honest, I don’t hear any synths. For me there is live orchestra, with a good size this time, unlike the some previous Sawada's works. But, as I said before, I've watched only 5 episodes and maybe missed something

I saying not impress because nothing of that variation is something to really to get so emotional , there is choir and that's it.

Shin Godzilla uses stock music (no specially fan of that), but Sagisu make a truly unique music, much engaging than Kawada, to be honest.

Shin Godzilla soundtrack is one of the biggest failure in franchise. Because of use of stock music, instead re-recorded it and overused of music from Evangelion (but it’s problems of director Anno), 7-8, or so, new tracks (and some variations) from Sagisu was good, but only few of them is stuck in my memory for real, even though I’m a big fan of Sagisu’s music.

With Singular Point I feel it will be a different situation from the very first teaser and it was true. I need to watch other episodes, but right now soundtrack by Sawada (there is much more, than just choir in this new variation of Godzilla theme, based on one of the teasers, where it sounds) is going to be my favourite above all works that was created for Godzilla franchise, apart from Ifukube.

I can’t embed videos, so here is the links

https://youtu.be/orIdY5qcO04 - I really like this one, my most favourite for now

https://youtu.be/wUhyxRbLWbk - it’s not clean sample with dialogues. After 1:10 mark there is start of the opening song.

I wasn't sure about the orchestration because I only could hear it on shitty computer speaker - no chance to hear if it's a real orchestra or samples.
But now I could listen on decent ear phones and it sure does sound like an orchestra. I can't wait to hear it on CD smile

Gosh, there is so much great music on this CD. Too bad it has no international release on streaming or download sites yet frown

Does anybody know if it's coming to iTunes? Spotify? Qobuz?
