It's in Berlin. Not in Munich.

Good to hear that this is something that might happen. Missing out on the Vienna concert bugged me massively, but I have a more relaxed relationship to this now. First of all, I find the prospect of it actually happening very uncertain - given the pandemic situation. Second, I have constant financial trouble, which means I'll gladly take a cheap standing ticket. If I don't get one and/or if it doesn't happen, for whatever reason, I've saved the travelling costs. In short: If it happens, and I'm able to realize it, great. If not, I'm fine with that too.

I might go, who knows. I'm optimistic about it. I've seen John Williams twice in concert so far, but the Berlin Philharmonic is really tempting.

Ticket sales started this morning. I managed to get a good seat for the Thursday concert. All three concerts are already sold out. It took less than an hour. For those who are interested. The Saturday concert will be available in their Digital Concert Hall which means there will be a live streaming.

Surprising. I suspect at his age and with his intellect he will be vaccinated. But does he really want to risk traveling this far and to a country which is still far from reaching a vaccination rate that could prevent October to be a super spreading time?

All tickets were cheap - half the price than in Vienna.

Cheap, compared to Vienna. But yes, it's still a lot of money.

Vaccination rate in Germany is now higher than in the US. But, unfortunately, we're still only slightly over 50 percent fully vaccinated, with infection rates rising like crazy since school holidays are ending now and people returning from their vacations. By October the virus is suspected to become widely spread, especially with too many declaring their reluctance to become vaccinated as "personal choice" and a general election in September having too many right-wing politicians jumping on the same idiot train as in other countries.
