I seem to recall quite liking Göransson‘s score for the first Venom so bit if a shame he isn’t coming back - Let There Be Carnage seems to be buying into Marvel’s policy if interchangeable composers (although this isn’t strictly a Marvel movie per se).
I’ve actually just realised that I don’t have a single Beltrami score in my collection and off my head can’t think of anything he has actually done (although my hazy memory seems to associate him with horror flicks).
Got my ticket to see this tonight. This will be my first theatre experience since the pandemic started. I think the last movie I saw was Doctor Sleep. Looking forward to it.
After the disappointment of No Time To Die, the clips from this sound phenomenal! I already liked the 2 tracks they released and definitely will be listening to this in more detail soon. Probably I'm getting this as a physical version as well.
By the way, a Finnish record store announced that there will be a vinyl version in January by Music On Vinyl records. It doesn't say if it's a 2 LP version so it may only include the highlights.
A lot of fun Beltrami's score, mix between his horror/action scores (think Hellboy, Terminator 3, I, Robot, Scream...) and hard rock dissonance, but is thematic (at least, three themes and a motif), a greatly surprise.
Much better than Chaos Walking and Nine Perfect Strangers
I have to agree, this is vintage action/horror from Beltrami with a bit of heavy metal thrown in (think Venom 1 and Ghost Rider) and I love it! It's the perfect score to get back into the fall/horror mood.
