I'd take either of these: Somewhere in Time by John Barry (LLL) Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan by James Horner (LLL 2CD Set) My favorite of the films listed, is of course … KHHHAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!* It's hands down the best original cast film. It's got the fantastic memorable score which also happens to be one of Horner's overall best works, the humor, the drama, tons of memorable scenes, and of course Ricardo Mantalban. I have no singular favorite film from the 1980's, but surely on a persona-favorites list, titles like Spaceballs" and "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" would be on it. * = Interesting note: in my thread for the scoring of "The Rookies", The Shat guest-starred as a bad cop. In one scene he yells like he did in TRoK, this time saying "KILLLLL HIIIIIMMMM!!!!!".

Adam you generous bastard! Another great giveaway! 1) Put me down for Glory or Somewhere in Time! 2) Favorite 80's movie that's not a franchise has to be Blue Thunder. Such great fun with Roy Scheider's brand of snark adding a layer or realism to his heroics. Thanks for doing this! Again!

Very generous as usual! Please enter me for the following: follows.... Always by John Williams (LLL) Extreme Prejudice by Jerry Goldsmith (Intrada 2CD Set) Friday the 13th - The Ultimate Cut by Harry Manfredini (LLL) Glory by James Horner (LLL 2CD Set) Legend by Jerry Goldsmith (Music Box 2CD Set) Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan by James Horner (LLL 2CD Set) My favorite ‘80s movie has to be Ghostbusters. I remember getting real sick with pneumonia as a small kid and GB had just premiered on TV and we taped it. I must have watched it a million times over the course of my illness and it gave me great comfort. I still watch it when I get sick. Makes me feel better.

Thank you for another wonderful giveaway, Adam! 1) Please put me down for Lionheart, Somewhere in Time, and Glory (I’m expecting to receive Legend on Monday and may be getting Always from someone in my family). 2) Off the top of my head, and with all due respect to films like Empire Strikes Back and Raiders, my favorite film from the 80’s is probably Secret of NIMH as it contains an engrossing story, wonderful characters that are perfectly cast, beautiful animation (I consider this film Don Bluth’s magnum opus), and of course that magnificent Jerry Goldsmith score.

Thank you as always for this generous opportunity. I would like to throw my hat in the ring for Extreme Prejudice, Legend, Star Trek ll, and Glory. Thanks again! There are so many great films from that decade (way too many!), and if I were to list them all, I would be typing for hours, but very high on my list for the all-time best films from the 1980's are: The Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade Octopussy A View to a Kill I know this is a very narrow-minded list, but what can I say... These were, are, and always will be my three favorite film series! Good luck to everyone out there, and Happy Holidays.

Adam... I always look forward to this. Not only for the chance of winning, but it's always a reminder of the Goodwill we aspire to for the Season. Thank you. I'll try for Somewhere in Time, Legend, The Running Man, and Glory. This may be an obvious (or maybe not so obvious) choice, but I'm going with the Star Trek movies as my favorite 80s movies. I guess technically that's II - V. We so often think of them as part of a larger franchise, but they really rose to the standards of fun and joy that we associate with 80's film. The only one taking place in the 1980's is of course Voyage Home, and it is a crowd pleaser on every level, and a feel good movie for non-fans and hardcore trekkers. But if I had to pick just one 80s movie to watch on a loop, it would be Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It's the ultimate blockbuster, roller-coaster, 80's excess, whip-cracking fun time a kid could have at the cinema.
