ONLY post videos of the composers actually playing their own music. While it is a nice trivia who performed what on which recording that is not what this is supposed to be about.
Bronislaw Kaper recorded an album of his film themes on piano, produced by Tony Thomas and released on his Delos Record label in 1975. Later issued on CD circa 1987 on a label called Facet. Nice record; I found a copy of the CD reduced to a fiver in a (sadly-now-closed-down) music shop in town.
Doyle and Grusin piano videos and albums are fine but there is video component missing, which is also very important...
Assignment wasn't clear! LOL
No problem.. they are all good... but if we were to include the music only played by the composers with no videos available, the list would be mile long and also including for example:
Cliff Eidelman: Simple Twist of Fate, Picture Bride James Horner: Rose from Titanic Philippe Rombi performed piano on pretty much all of his scores - although I am not sure at the moment if there are any solo piano pieces Basil Poledouris: It's My Party (entire album was performed by him?) + there is that BSX Blue Lagoon album with his demos... and probably many more...
John Mauceri conducts the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in a 1996 recording with Korngold himself (having died 40 years earlier) heard as piano soloist playing his own love theme from Escape Me Never. The album is "Always and Forever" on Philips.
