Branagh's third Poirot film, inspired by Agatha Christie's Hallowe'en Party.

Shooting starts in a few weeks, and the movie is due to be released next year.

No news on Doyle scoring this even though it finished shooting over four months ago and is apparently having its first test screening next week.

I hope for some confirmation soon.

First test screening? Wow, looking forward to this a lot!

Wish I'd liked those Agatha Christie/Branagh scores more, but I don't. A few highlights, but nothing that engages me much. I'm hoping for more stuff a la their brilliant ALL IS TRUE from 2019.

Agreed. It's a good thing Branagh is taking a lesser known story and not one that was a terrific movie to begin with.

Hopefully, it will be fun and the score will offer some dazzle.

The first two Branagh Poirot films were/are abysmal, "inspired" as they are but not faithful to the Christie Poirot.

Different strokes, I guess. All is True was fine, but the Poirot scores are some of my favorite film music of the last few years. Greatly looking forward to Haunting in Venice.

All of them so far have been really bad in my opinion.
The music though was ok.

Same here.

And I loved and enjoyed the movies, too.

I've quite enjoyed the two Branagh/Poirot films too, to varying degrees.
Nothing outstanding, but solid, handsome 'old fashioned entertainment.
I really enjoyed the first Doyle score. It had some very strong moments.
I didn't enjoy the second film/score quite as much as MOTOE, but there were still some fine moments in DOTN as well.
I look forward to this third adventure and the material will be less familiar to me this time around.

Terrible decision. Except another drone fest like Joker / Sicario. Wonder why Doyle is not scoring this? Hope its not the end of his partnership with Branagh.

I'm stunned. This is a bewildering composer assignment, and I really hope it doesn't mean the Doyle/Branagh collaboration is over.

I hope Doyle is okay, health wise, as that's the only reason I can think of for them not working together again?

Doyle has written a piece for the King's coronation next month, so he's been writing music fairly recently.

I agree. I too am stunned. Branagh usually has themes and melodies in his scores by Doyle. Can't say I've ever heard a theme from Hildur.

Yes. The screening is tomorrow night (4/27) in Irvine.

I wasn't a huge fan of Brannagh's previous Poirot films so I didn't RSVP for this one.
