WHOA! Judging from that tracklist, with seven cues in the main film program marked "(Film Version)" to distinguish from the original album versions later on the CD... PLUS 10 minutes worth of *other* alternates... seems like Goldsmith was rewriting a lot of cues for this project. This tracklist makes me think Neil S. Bulk worked on the release, making sure it had all the unique versions. I wish Varese would share details of who worked on these, in their product descriptions... Yavar

Yeah, I'm super grateful to DeputyRiley for doing that breakdown, but it sounds like there's a lot more to this story because he counted 28 minutes of music in the film proper, and only two alternates in the film, while the film program on this new release is 34 minutes including a whopping seven alternates. DeputyRiley also missed that the highlight "unreleased" cue he called "Stern's Regrets" was just a cut-down version of "Schwartz Is Dead" from the album...so I'm wondering if the film program here is going to include that cut, or present Jerry's full composition. If the former, I'm going to have to do some editing to this release to get a complete-as-composed presentation of Jerry's work. Yavar

Mike Matessino and I produced this release for Varese Sarabande. Scoring went on for awhile which led to numerous rescoring. Bruce Botnick had all of the material so we could make sense of it. Neil Thanks to all of you involved. So happy for this one!

It's a very good movie and Goldsmith's score is excellent. Not sure I will get this simply because it's one of the "30 minute Varèse albums" that actually presented the film score well. But if you like Jerry Goldsmith's music but have not seen the movie or not listened to the score, you should do both.
