People will say I'm taking this too seriously, but this board has been very dear to me for these last 4 years.

As such, I have submitted a little....well, not exactly tribute, perhaps, but a listing of my favourite threads to be found in the current volume of the board, with a comment about each.

The piece can be found on my website http://www.celluloidtunes.net/fsm.htm and is called "The Film Score Monthly Messageboard: Highlights from a healthy film music discussion forum".

I want to direct a special thanks to Dan Hobgood, Howard L, Marian Schedenig, Dutch, joan hue, hemant, logied, ZapBrannigan, Joe Esrey, Gustavo Joseph, ThomasCrown76 and vulcantouch for initiating these fine threads. And of course to everyone who participated in them.

You are without a doubt the heart and soul of this place. I am honored to have a few of my words included. And moved.

Good work, Thor! http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif">

I was surprised to find two threads started by myself in your list, as I found that I usually only reply to existing threads.

FOUR years? I demand a recount!

Seems like a decade or two, so who am I to quibble? http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif">

Wow, I feel honored being on Thor’s web page amongst such
other fine filmscore aficionados.

When I visit your site, Thor, I’m overwhelmed by the amount of work
you’ve done, the depths in music you’ve plumbed, and the quality of
your writing. I know many native English speakers whose grammar
and vocabulary pale next to your English usage.

Deeply Appreciative, Joan

MY HOUSE IS AT YOUR WEBSITE!
MY HOUSE IS AT YOUR WEBSITE!

Now I'll NEVER be able to remove that picture from Photopoint...

Shucks, Thor.
I'm speechless.

Gorgeous site, fella!

Well, I'm utterly touched and overwhelmed by these nice words, guys and girl (that's a blushing icon, in case you wondered).

I also agree with Wedge in that it seems like it was more than 4 years ago since it all started. Guess that says something about the amount of time we spend around here...

Thor, I'm honored that you chose to include a thread of mine. Thanks. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif">

I feel a bit guilty for not having participated as much in some of the more serious, involving discussions; to be honest, I don't have as much musical background or education as many others here, nor do I have nearly as extensive or varied a score library, so I simply don't feel qualified to add my opinion to the others, but I'll do it eventually anyway. I do have strong feelings on some of the topics discussed in the "serious" threads; I just haven't always bothered to post, partly out of timidity over the validity or lack thereof of my own opinions, and partly, I admit, out of sheer laziness. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/biggrin.gif">

Incidentally, I haven't yet had time to check out any films by Ivo Caprino, but I _will_ get to it, I promise. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/smile.gif">

You may not believe this but I started out in your shoes around 3 years ago. Now I've turned into the man who came to dinner http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/wink.gif">. It's true!

That goes for me too. Very well put, Joe. But am I to understand that Howard got a dinner? Even Lukas Kendall never got a dinner.

DINNER? WHO GETS A DINNER?

I'd be happy with a lunch...a breakfast...maybe even just a snack.

Dear Thor,

congrats for this fine site. Thanks that you mentioned my thread, I was very much moved and also a little bit proud.

It was and I think will always be a treat discussing with you, I myself learned a lot visiting this board.

Also best wishes to all the others,

H.

That settles it, Chris, if I make it over to my sister's in London anytime soon I'm hopping the train so me, Thor & Nicolai can meet somewhere in the middle and properLEE celebrate and pop the cork!
