Are we definitely getting a score release of tihs? I don't recall hearing anything confirmed about it. Saw the movie just a few minutes ago, and all I can say right now is "Wow..."

Word is that a score album is being prepped. It just hasn't been announced yet. I'm sure it will be soon.

Why would you want one?????....it's just the same old MV re-hash of "The Rock" and every other Zimmer clan score ever made....

Probably because he likes this composer's music?

Just a wild guess.

I just love comments like this. After all, Media Ventures composers are the ONLY ones to EVER re-use themes and instrumentation from previous scores. Every note from every other film score written by every other film composer is absolutely original... it's just those darn Media Ventures guys who keep getting away with this. Damn them, damn them straight to hell!!!

Yeah, so anyway...

My favorite scene in the movie was the Qatar ambush, when the A-10 Warthogs are brought in to save the day. I don't recall the music per se, but I remember it being particularly cool.

Anyone wanna wager if 'filmscorefan1' has actually seen the movie or at least heard the music?

That was cool, but my favorite was the first time Optimus goes at it with Bonecrusher on the freeway. Animation was superb, powerful, majestic. I am not familiar with the toys/cartoons, have never been a big fan of Bay's films, and I don't own any Jablonsky scores, but I enjoyed The Island and thought Transformers gives more bang for the buck than all his other films combined. Sensitive viewers may need earplugs or a trip to a day spa the next day, but I had fun. Film and music are a heavy metal techno monster mash.

Saw the film last night. Best summer spectacle movie I've seen in ages, with a genuinely funny and likeable lead in Shia LaBeouf, and the music grew on me.

My favorite music scenes were Bumblebee's capture and the the arrival of the rest of the Autobots, particularly the moment where one of them climbs out of the pool.

Are there any themes in the music or is it more like wallpapery? I have Jablonsky's Steamboy which i really like, though i am not expecting Transformers to be like that at all. The Island was okay, but the score did nothing for me, though i thought it worked alright in the film, as far as i remember.

Thanks for sharing some info about the film guys. I'm even more interested in seeing it now.

As for MV bashing, yeah, let's give it a rest. Some people are looking forward to the film and score so just let them be excited about it. I'm actually a little hyped for this film. It looks like fun. Nothing wrong with a little escapism now and again.

There are six themes, according to www.soundtrack.net. Since I've only seen it once, I honestly can't remember that many. I do recall one main theme and a theme for the Decepticons that stand out.

I predict that Transformers will be this year's Independence Day film.

That's not fair. Powell has carved a nice sound for himself as has Mark Mancina. I even enjoyed Rupert Gregson-Williams' Over the Hedge.

A Michael Bay film being touted at this years Independence Day film?

Oh my God. frown I'll start my preparations for Armageddon. Oh crap, he directed that too! wink

However, given my penchant for Jablonsky's incredible non-MV style score to "Steamboy" and his music to "Desperate Housewives", I am looking forward to hearing his action opus. If it's anything like "Steamboy" I'll be getting it.

LOVE the deceptacon theme. very simple but that kick ass choir makes it so awesome. the autobots theme didn't work so much for me, maybe with repeat viewings *which is a definite must for this awesome movie* I'll like it more

those comparing it to past MV scores are right I guess. I thought it sounded more like "Batman Begins" than "The Rock", but what do I know

Don't get your hopes up then, because it's nothing like Steamboy.

I liked the movie and Jablonsky's score, though it could have benefited from a bit more variation, rather than juggling the two themes. Nice use of the blaster beam, though!
