Yeah, so anyway... My favorite scene in the movie was the Qatar ambush, when the A-10 Warthogs are brought in to save the day. I don't recall the music per se, but I remember it being particularly cool.
That was cool, but my favorite was the first time Optimus goes at it with Bonecrusher on the freeway. Animation was superb, powerful, majestic. I am not familiar with the toys/cartoons, have never been a big fan of Bay's films, and I don't own any Jablonsky scores, but I enjoyed The Island and thought Transformers gives more bang for the buck than all his other films combined. Sensitive viewers may need earplugs or a trip to a day spa the next day, but I had fun. Film and music are a heavy metal techno monster mash.

Saw the film last night. Best summer spectacle movie I've seen in ages, with a genuinely funny and likeable lead in Shia LaBeouf, and the music grew on me.
My favorite music scenes were Bumblebee's capture and the the arrival of the rest of the Autobots, particularly the moment where one of them climbs out of the pool.

Thanks for sharing some info about the film guys. I'm even more interested in seeing it now.
As for MV bashing, yeah, let's give it a rest. Some people are looking forward to the film and score so just let them be excited about it. I'm actually a little hyped for this film. It looks like fun. Nothing wrong with a little escapism now and again.

I just love comments like this. After all, Media Ventures composers are the ONLY ones to EVER re-use themes and instrumentation from previous scores. Every note from every other film score written by every other film composer is absolutely original... it's just those darn Media Ventures guys who keep getting away with this. Damn them, damn them straight to hell!!!

That's not fair. Powell has carved a nice sound for himself as has Mark Mancina. I even enjoyed Rupert Gregson-Williams' Over the Hedge.

I liked the movie and Jablonsky's score, though it could have benefited from a bit more variation, rather than juggling the two themes. Nice use of the blaster beam, though!
