I definitely remember and love this theme, which also was used for the 1994 Winter Games. Back in 2000, I found a 40-second clip online but I've never found any recording of the whole thing. I even e-mail Tamara Kline about it, but never heard back. Maybe someday...

mediatwo, thank you supremely-much for posting the montage with Tamara Kline's Olympic music. Also the closing credits. Yesterday I doubted I'd ever hear this music again. Today is different. With 6 billion people in the world, a worthwhile work (like this Olympic music) can still be in danger of slipping down the memory-hole of humankind. So...thanks for getting this 3 minutes-plus out there. During my very brief e-mail exchange with her in 2006, Ms. Kline wrote this about the Olympic music: "I appreciate hearing your feelings about the piece though, and thinking there's a market for it...Funny enough, I've recently received a handful of emails similar to yours, and it's inspired me to want to put a few of the versions onto a CD. I'm going to hang on to your email, and I'll let you know when that CD is ready. I'm not officially in the music business anymore, so it might take a little while." No email yet, but it was a nice note, and I can hope. Interesting (from RonBurbella's search at CBS) that Kline owns the music (and the performance?). Maybe she's just taking her time.

Perhaps someone who has been in contact with her should point out this thread, the number of views it has received, and the youtube video. I have had this majestic music knocking around in my thick skull for 15 years; its time to get it out on cd!

I've no fresh news whatever on this topic. But felt moved to add a new post anyway, to this old thread. (I'm watching the London Games.) Back in the early '90s, CBS did the Winter Olympic broadcasts from Albertville and then Lillehammer. Those games had a majestic TV theme music by composer Tamara Kline, music that's a keeper--yet never released, or re-recorded, or added to an Olympic album, far as I know. A few ragged scraps of it can be found on the Net. Theme is on Youtube. Low quality audio/video, but worth a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP9AkwO7bEo Anyone have an update or link or good news about this situation? Thanks.
