I've always admired his work, but lately I've been relistening to all of it and it just proves how nice it is to have stepped back from an artist's work for a while only to appreciate it even more. The man is brilliant, and I am looking forward to HS.

I haven't received a shipment note yet either (but mine is from Varese themselves), even though I placed my order literally within 60 seconds of the disc appearing on the site. Obviously, Varese's orders are not fulfilled in order of ordering. Maybe they do it alphabetically, in which case I will come pretty much last! Cheers

I've had them for two days now and the first one I played was Barry's. Never saw the movie, critics savaged it back in the day. Not surprised by this score one bit, really solid, great musical ideas, at first its comfortable Barry territory, but that Love Theme, I've got it stuck in my head! To make matters worse, the love theme plays back in my head as the song, Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly) from So Dear To My Heart (1949). The vocal is by Burl Ives! I think I'll take the rest of the day off.
