Here are 2 quotes from MV: "I already know that this year our planned major MAJOR release dates are 3/23, 4/20, 5/4, 7/20 and 11/30. And we are going to try to stick to those dates as best as we can. But in the interim we will have several other great releases coming out as well." "MV : a lot of of great scores will be released this year, from Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Kamen, Danny Elfman, Les Baxter and John Williams and other marvelous composers." I also believe MV mention 5 comic-book soundtrack releases. #1 would be the Flash, and #2 should be Wonder Woman. But the other 3?? No idea yet. 3/23 was Eraser and Dragonslayer (both of those were MAJOR). I think from what he said earlier that 5/4 is ID4. and for the X-Files summer release date, that is probably 7/20. I cannot wait to see (or hear, I guess) the new Goldsmith he mentioned!

The new goldsmith could be gremlins since the same deal with geffen records that applied to innerspace applies to that title and i think 11/30 is a realistic timeframe. For the williams, i am hoping for an expanded hook. It could be possible, due to lalalands breakthrough with sony. Of course i am only speculating. I have no idea what the kamen title might be, because there are just way too many scores from him that deserve to be expanded or remain unreleased to this day. But if its a title that falls under their archival expanded editions, then it might even be lethal weapon 3. And dont forget there were indications last year that an expanded batman & robin by goldenthal would come from lalaland, so that would be our third comic book title.

"Why start w/ Batman and Robin?" Different situations apply to every batman movie score, so a label has individual obstacles to solve before they can release one. It might just be very easy to release batman and robin compared to, say, an expanded/complete batman by elfman. And keep in mind that schedules might change, so its not guaranteed that batman and robin will come out this year. As with the x-files set, it could always get delayed for another year.

And there was also talk about lalaland releasing material from masters of the universe (the show), so if you count that one as comic book franchise and if it is indeed coming out this year, you already have 4 on the list.

"MV : a lot of of great scores will be released this year, from Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Kamen, Danny Elfman, Les Baxter and John Williams and other marvelous composers." Somehow, I have a slight feeling that the Michael Kamen release could actually be LICENCE TO KILL, complete score only without the pop songs... I mean MCA has been cracked, and Intrada released BACK TO THE FUTURE - without the songs. So why not the same procedure here?

Independence Day is coming out April 20th I've said a bunch of times that I think Hook is their big November 30th release X-Files is definitely the July 20th release. I was surprised to read in the below article that its basically the highest bidder wins in terms of which label gets to release which score. That seems to indicate to me that Varese or Intrada would get Gremlins. But I dunno. http://www.underscores.fr/index.php/2010/03/interview-mv-gerhard-at-the-heart-of-la-la-land-vo/
