Mornin' y'all

Hope you folks in the good ol' USofA had a splendid July 4th holiday and you fine folks overseas had a great Jully 4th as well.

Due to the craziness of thi wonderful thing called show business a number of planned releases debuting at Comic Con this year have, for one reason or another, has been delayed.

That said, one title is in stock and ready to ship next Tuesday, thus this informal announcement.

Starting next Tuesday, July 12 at 1 pm PST La La Land Records starts shipping:

THE GOLDEN CHILD
LLLCD 1180
Music by Michel Colombier and John Barry
3 Disc Set
Limited Edition of 5000 units
Retail Price: $29.98

Produced by Lukas Kendall
Mastered by Mike Matessino
Liner Notes by Jon Burlingame
Art Direction by Jim Titus

This massive 3 disc set features both scores for the film -- Barry's mostly rejected score as well as Colombier's score used for the film. Barry fans are in for a treat. His score to this Eddie Murphy flick is one of the finest he ever wrote. It's like his lost Bond score by way of Somewhere in Time.

There is the tease. More to come later.

wikipedia appears to be down, but I'll update it as soon as I can get in.

Interesting that the release was produced by Lukas Kendall - how'd that come about?

Mornin' y'all
...
THE GOLDEN CHILD

It's already evening in Russia, and I say THANKS for Barry!!! You made my evening such joyful!
I know that they rejected MOST of Barry score, so when 5-6 weeks ago Golden Child showed on TV, I didn't watch and HEAR it carefully.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
And by the way, one question about delivery. Delivery through LLL site will cost 8$ for all set, or 8$ for 1 CD + 4$ for 2nd and 3rd?

Rejected scores aren't stored any differently than used scores are. There are tapes in studio vaults, etc.

Cool!

I don't really have any interest in the Barry music, but I've been a fan of Colombier's score for ages. I have the regular soundtrack, but have always wanted more of the score proper. Not "C&C more", but a somewhat meatier selection. There are, after all, only 3 tracks on the existing album.

I have to think about this. If it had been a, say, 30-40 minute presentation of Colombier's music only for $20, I'd buy it in a New York sec. As for a 3CD set with C&C Colombier and Barry for $30......as I said, I have to think about it.

But again - cool title selection! (as always from LLL). And I'm always glad to see my man Jim Titus gettin' some gigs. smile
