That main title is one of Ennio's best ever. I don't recall the rest as it has been years since I've seen the film. Gotta luv the Morricone luv coming from the labels of late, though.
This was absolutely necessary to see a remastered edition of this great score - one of Morricone's best from the period. And I'm so glad to see the I'm Gonna Lose You track by Simply Red included; the album presentation in general, too, I guess. Man, why must you leave this remarkable label you and your team have built, Lukas? Of all the things still left unattended, I wish you could have made it through the changing times to continue to show us how it should be done. Perhaps your hand was forced, I don't know. It's just a real shame.
I never thought any label would release this one complete and therefore buried all hopes to be able to listen to the "Airport" chase cue one day. Been wanting this track since I saw the movie as a child. This is so awesome!!!
I used to play this score a lot ... now, it's only the odd track which I hear when listening on random play. But I never played the Simply Red track ... not my cup-o-tea.
But I dare say that I shall acquire this new release though maybe not immediately ... sorry, but there are so many other scores/albums I want.
I have not heard the CD yet, but I do not need to to say how excited I am to see a complete release of this fantastic score. Thank you so much Lukas! I look forward to the day that I can get my hands on this soundtrack.
I used to rank this score under "well, another of his usually less interesting US scores", but listening to the samples now has really changed my mind. Very curious and looking forward to getting to hear the full CD now!
I already have both the vinyl and the CD but I also remember that there was plenty of unreleased music when you watch the movie. One of the best Parisian Morricone.
