How accurate is the BSX rerecording of VII & VIII?
It is extremely accurate.
I'm not positive it even is a rerecording at all as it matches 100%.
The cues are are strung together though and, unfortunately, it is incomplete.
None of Mollin's music from the final act (Except for the end credits) is on it.
From the point where Tina finds the bodies to the end.
There are some small sounds and stings from earlier in the movie that might be missing as well.
That's too bad,
but it doesn't rule out the possibility that LLL wouldn't pursue releasing the original recording (unless they are MIA).
Perhaps with the great sellout of that box,
LLL could assemble a 2CD set with the complete Manfredini & Molin score for VII and the
complete VIII by Molin.
even if they are mia they can always used the music stems that were used for the dvd like they did for parts 1-5

Off the top of my head I know that "Ralph in the Pantry" from part 1 is used in part 7 when Maddie is in the woods looking for her earring on the ground, but I think also with Mollin's track overlaid on top.
Also quite positive that the last minute (or more) of part VI's opening "The Cemetary -- Coffins and Maggots and Worms -- Oh My!" where the drums build up, is used in part VII. Also the first few minutes of "Here We Go Again (Opening Titles)" from part VI are used in part VII. Sorry I can't be more precise at the moment about where in part VII these two are located.
I think this is a good idea, to determine which previous cues from Manfredini's stuff was tracked into Mollin's score, and where, to make an expanded VII score. I hope this comes together because I'm interested in doing this. Will help when/where I can.
i believe the opening your talking about plays when jason grabs the girl in the lake trying to pull her under by the leg I think

In addition to the below, there are a lot of Manfredini's "ki-ki-ki's" layered over many parts of Mollin's stuff (which are not part of the Mollin soundtrack) and even over the reedited Manfredini stuff as well.
