My big french film music favorite is Deep Forest's score to Alain Corneau's "Le Prince Du Pacifique" (2000): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57N_mTbjynA And let's not forget Jean-Michel Jarre's Les Granges Brulees... And in a month or so, even AIR could have been featured (re Pioneer). But nice to see Colombier and Serra there!

Ah Deep Forest, I love their stuff. I still listen to their albums regularly. The album was released simply titled 'Pacifique', and worth seeking out. I was always under the impression most of it wasn't used in the film, but having never seen it I'm not sure about that. I don't know anything about how the music ended up in the film, as I haven't seen it either. World Mix and Boheme are two brilliant DF albums. Comparsa is OK, while I still haven't got Music Detected, which didn't really sound like 90s DF.

Nice subject! Good to see Whale Rider there. I also particularly liked the Deborah Lurie track. An important person in female (electronic) film music is Suzanne Ciani, who scored Joel Schumacher's The Incredible Shrinking Woman in 1981. Other ones I thought of was Abigail Mead (Full Metal Jacket) and Jocelyn Pook (Eyes Wide Shut).
