Hi Joan, how are you?smileHave you seen ROMANCING THE STONE? That's a fun movie directed by Zemeckis.

My TOP TEN Favorite Robert Zemeckis Films:

10. A CHRISTMAS CAROL
9. WHAT LIES BENEATH
8. CONTACT
7. FORREST GUMP
6. CAST AWAY
5. DEATH BECOMES HER
4. BACK TO THE FUTURE lll
3. BACK TO THE FUTURE ll
2. BACK TO THE FUTURE
1. WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT

This was a difficult list to make, because I adore all of these films so much.
Zemeckis has made only one film that I absolutely detest: FLIGHT.

It's flawed but it's interesting - certainly better than Death Becomes Her. (And both are preferable to The Frighteners; that was Peter Jackson, but Zemeckis executive produced.)

That's interesting, because I thought FLIGHT was a return to form for him, back to when he did films with slightly politically incorrect elements back in the 70s and early 80s.

Gump would be my pick. Head and shoulders above the rest on so many levels. Atmt.

I think his Back to the Future 1 and 3 are really excellent entertainments. I will stick up for his animated Christmas Carole, I think it is really quite good, and a really lovely score too.

Hi Henry. Yes, I liked Romancing The Stone, especially when I first saw it. I just like Gump and Back to the Future more.

No love for I Wanna Hold Your Hand?

Maybe not my absolute favorite Zemeckis movie, but it is right up there. I love the madcap zaniness. Yes, I did say it was madcap and zany.

Back To The Future may be #1 ( or maybe even Cast Away, I love the melancholy of the last act ), but I wish, oh how I wish Zemeckis would make a return to these kitchen sink type comedies he and Bob Gale concocted. These days he is all Mr Serious razz

Thanks. Well, I hope those of us who've praised it didn't get your hopes up for nothing (meaning: I hope you enjoy it!). I'm not sure whether you'd have to be a big Beatles fan to fully appreciate that film or not, but it's still got some funny scenes in it. Good viewing, henry... smile

I wouldn't call myself a Robert Zemeckis fan. I liked a few of his movies.
Back to the Future his most endearing and entertaining. Roger Rabbit for the animation and technical achievement. His mo-cap stuff is awful though.
