THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE---trailer released for the Netflix prequel series.

LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3_owZfYVR8

A QUIET PLACE 2---Djimon Hounsou (GLADIATOR) has replaced Brian Tyree Henry, who left due to a schedule conflict.

ALADDIN---producer Dan Lin said a sequel is being discussed, "We are going to treat it the same way we treat the original Aladdin movie and not going to do a shot by shot remake of anything that’s been done before. We’re really looking at what’s been done before in the past and the home video, and there’s just more story to tell with the underlying materials. So without giving away too much, we are certainly exploring where we can go with this franchise.”

ROADWORK---Andy Muschietti (IT) is developing a movie based on the Stephen King novel written under his Richard Bachman pseudonym.

AFTER EXILE---Robert De Niro and Shia Labeouf star in this movie based on the true story of Mike Delaney, who is released from prison after killing an innocent man, and his ex-con father, Ted, who team up to save his younger brother from a life of crime.

SARAH SILVERMAN---the comedian said she was fired from a movie because she appeared in blackface on the 2007 COMEDY CENTRAL "The Sarah Silverman Program", "I was going to do a movie, a sweet part, then at 11 P.M. the night before they fired me because they saw a picture of me in blackface from that episode. I didn't fight it. They hired someone else who is wonderful but who has never stuck their neck out. It was so disheartening...."

THE NEW MUTANTS---Walt Disney executives are reportedly very unhappy with the 20th Century Fox/Josh Boone movie and other Fox movies. Disney head Bob Iger said 20th Century Fox is, “was well below where it had been and well below where we hoped it would be when we made the acquisition.”

CHARLEMAGNE---Quibi/Michael Hirst (THE TUDORS, VIKINGS) bioseries underway based on the Roman Emperor.

THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR---creator Mike Flangan said Season 2 will be, “much scarier than Season 1.”

LAST RESORT---Quibi comedy about a Polynesian family's Hawaiian resort that a tech billionaire wants to buy the land it is on. Dwayne Johnson is the producer.

TRIVIA---Rance Howard, father of director Ron Howard, played a clergyman in two outer space movies. He played a clergyman in Ron Howard's APOLLO 13 and an Area 51 clergyman in INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Rance Howard, son of director Ron Howard, played a clergyman in Ron Howard's APOLLO 13.

Howard played the Area 51 clergyman in INDEPENDENCE DAY who performed the wedding between the characters played by Will Smith and Vivica A. Fox.

Hollywood is just eating their own. The very nuts they are promoting are now in there and slowly taking over and firing the very people who held them up and built them to where they are today.

Only Silverman is getting the axe here. There are plenty more that have ben in black face in the last decade or so and none of them are getting fired from the TV shows and movies they are in.

I made this same comment on YouTube. Gorecki's 3rd symphony certainly has been overused, but, man, it sure retains its haunting power even on the umpteenth hearing.

Trailer doesn't mean it's in the film.
Have you seen FEARLESS?

I hope Malick has dug up some lesser-known classical pieces for Hidden Life.

I have been remiss in seeing Fearless. It's a Peter Weir, who has made some great films, so I really should get around to watching it. I'm also aware this was one of the first, if not the first, films to feature the Gorecki symphony under discussion.

Without spoiling it, the last 10 minutes. uses the Canon. It's one of the.most extraordinary sequences you will EVER see.
Check it out!

I even taped it off the DVD even though I have the Gorecki on CD. !

Mark, "Fearless" is a terrific, but harrowing film. It blew me away in theatrical release; and then years later, on Blu-ray, sent me into crashing depression. Without giving anything away, I doubt it is a film that you will ever see as an in-flight movie, and if you are a nervous flier, it will be tough to sit through. But it is a powerful, and beautifully made movie [I echo Mr. Marshall's sentiments above]. Peter Weir is an extraordinary filmmaker.

Her show was pure genius because she dared to part from the party line.

Silverman should've been fired for taking the black face off.

Gee Sol, I thought her irreverent brand of comedy - no P.C. crap- would appeal to you?

Am I one of the only few who really WANTS to see Josh Boone's New Mutant film (and the other two he planned as horror films in the X-Universe)? I was really excited for this. Sounds like Disney want's to just push it under the rug. Sad.

I just find her really annoying and unlikable. Not even familiar with her brand of humor.
