Recently, I consulted with what I thought was a John Barry expert. (Admittedly, I might have thrust this identity upon her, without her approval.) I said that I had bought some music from a John Barry film. Could she guess which film it was? I offered the clue that a naked man appeared in the shower in the film. Well, she was stumped. And so I thought, "Is it possible there been so many naked men in the filmography of JB that it was impossible to figure this out? Or so many showers?" So, I put to the Hive Mind of Nerd-dom the following two questions: Who are all the naked men in the filmography of John Barry? And Which film was I asking her about? (IMPORTANT RULE: IF YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THIS FILM, POST ONLY CLUES ABOUT IT, NOT THE NAME, JUST LIKE IN CHICKENHEARTED'S THREADS.)

[ My two clues would be as follows. Not sure that movie was all that special. I think a lot of the guys in the audience were looking at the leading lady whose initials are S.S. And here I thought my movie was the only one with a naked man in the shower. You, Joan, might have come up with a second. And you've stumped me. I'm going to have to save a copy of his complete filmography, and study up!

My clue for the title I know: There was a big pop hit in the score, but it wasn't Barry's.

I'm thinking of a Russian airstrip/army base that wasn't in Russia.

Does a naked duck count?

Wow, David, I thought you and I were thinking of the same movie. Well, Joan, your contribution led me to look over the list. I found that although I have not seen all of his films, or even close to 1/4 of them, I did find a naked man. But his leading lady did not have the initials S.S. So there are perhaps 3 (my original one, yours, and this new one). But I can't remember if he was in the shower during part of the time. So this 3rd one might only count as a nude. In this third one, it takes place in the American West.

The first one (in the original post) takes place mostly in NYC, and there was no leading lady. And Barry's music pretty much (to my mind) takes second place to the pop music used in the film; I believe that there is perhaps at least as much pop as Barry.

I think I just spotted it. Joan, does yours have a leading actor who is generally lacking in a dramatic personality? And the leading lady is..... uh..... "infamous" for one certain moment in another of her films?

Does a naked duck count? Ducks don't have fingers, so they can't count.

I'm thinking of a Russian airstrip/army base that wasn't in Russia. I'm going to have to look over the filmography again to know what this one is.

I think you got it, David. The movie was The Specialist with Stallone and Sharon Stone. Also, wasn't Costner somewhat naked in Dances With Wolves? I think we just saw his backside. Yes, you got my 3rd one, Joan. But I don't have Zap's yet, and no one has gotten mine. Mine had the Barry theme re-recorded by Henry Mancini.

I thought mine was the only one, and that my artless clue was a dead giveaway. I'd forgotten all about Stallone and Stone. No idea what the third one is! What I recall of The Specialist shower scene is that Sharon Stone admitted later she was hiding behind Stallone. And just to look at the scene, it appears Stallone was flexing every muscle as hard as he could. So neither one of them was concerned with playing a realistic scene like, I don't know, good actors? Edit: I'm having trouble verifying that my clue is accurate. It's possible I confused the scene I remember for having been in a John Barry movie when it wasn't. Not sure now.

So we know of one shower scene, we still have mine to figure out. Here's another clue. It's a buddy movie.
