So far we've gotten…

1. Alien = Space Truckers
2. Aliens = Space Marines
3. Alien 3 = Space Convicts
4. Alien Resurrection = Space Crooks
5. Prometheus = (Super Dumb) Space Scientists
6. Covenant = Space Schmucks

Which demographic hasn’t been portrayed yet that would make for juicy alien fodder?

7. Alien 7* =

* production title; insert your own

5. Prometheus = (Super Dumb) Space Scientists
6. Covenant = Space Schmucks

Alien: Enough Already!

Boy did you ever get their number with 5 and 6, but I think "wanker" pretty much describes the demographic in the last few films.

All I hope for at this point is that Scott gets to complete the David trilogy that leads directly into ALIEN. Then I'll be a happy camper. I'm obviously also open to other ventures in the fictional universe, like that series Noah Hawley is working on at the moment.

There are plenty of great stories to be told in the Alien universe, it just needs better ideas & stories. The previous writers can't be allowed to be involved in the storytelling which has been painfully generic and uninteresting with the Prometheus films. The only way forward is to reset & ignore all the films after Aliens and get good writers with creative vision in and go new directions.

Yup.

I suppose at sometime in the near future, Alien will get a straight remake. Oh dear!

I couldn't care less about the next one anymore. Making the new movies all about David was a bizarre move, and not in a good way. What was the impetus behind killing Shaw and scrapping what Prometheus set up? Probably Ridley bowing to studio pressure yet again.

Prometheus was supposed to have the aliens and facehuggers we know, but Fox intervened. I actually liked this change. Then, people complained about the lack of those critters and Fox intervened. I'm not against this, but was Shaw thrown out with the bathwater? Did Fox want to distance the second in the series from the first in this way? I don't know, but I do know that an android sociopath isn't what I'm interested in, especially if he's just going around offing idiots and even dumber androids.

Maybe the next movie can go all Gremlins 2 and have the aliens kill David before tearing through the projection screen at the premiere and kill Ridley and everyone at Fox in completely over the top fashions. That's the only one I'd want to see at this point.

Sorry I can't join in all the jokes. I take the ALIEN films very seriously, and love them all.

Once - hopefully - Scott completes the David trilogy, I would love to see a film that picked up after RESSURECTION. In the alternate ending of that film, they're not only hovering above earth (as in the final cut), but actually landed just by a demolished, post-apocalyptic Paris (it's a Jeunet film, after all!).

I'm tantalized by the idea of an ALIEN movie set in a post-apocalyptic earth landscape, with "Ripley clone" - now 25 years older and more humanized than how she appears in the film - back in business. Although I have no idea how the xeno would be around; presumably something United Systems Military, which took over as the main corporate antagonist after Weyland/Utani in that film, has concocted.

The new Hawley series is supposed to be earth-bound too, but I haven't read anything about when it's supposed to take place in the timeline.

I really enjoyed Aliens a few months ago, & really must look at Alien again soon (maybe this weekend). I find Alien 3 a complete misfire, but enjoyed Alien 4, it's been a few years since I last saw that. I do wish that Ridley Scott hadn't gone back to the Alien franchise, as I think those films are just awful, it's like Scott's forgotten how to direct a good movie...but other opinions are allowed.

I'm the same Ram.
Enjoyed 1 & 2...thought 3 was rubbish, enjoyed 4 despite it being more rubbish, and can't stand those newer, sillier versions that just bore me and actually ruin the ALIEN world that was created in the first place.
But NO ONE can leave ANYTHING ALONE anymore (ha, sounds like a variant on the old tagline).

Agree that there should be no more.
BUT - there will of course, so how about one that really looks at Aliens. Without becoming a documentary, of course. It's been covered to various levels in several, but perhaps it could be done showing the life cycle over a couple of generations, maybe. Something along the lines of Jurassic Park.
Maybe they could try one where someone finds a way to control them, perhaps attaching some control device while they're still embryos and is able to use them as bioweapons after they've matured.
How about an Alien sitcom?
