"Nightcrawler" is a great album. In one of the other tracks he pays hommage to HALLOWEEN 3.
Love it.
Would love to see Marten scoring a movie !!

Let's see if anybody recognizes this music -- which may or may not be tracked.

In 1958,a year before the series began, a pilot for "Phillip Marlowe" was shot for CBS that was not aired and has not since been shown anywhere. A new pilot was shot for a different network for the 1959 series.

But clips from the unaired pilot, directed by Ted Post, have popped up:

The music sounds wonderful, but with no end credits roll to read, I don't know if this is tracked or original. Anybody recognize any of the music?

No help needed identifying the music here - it's the I Spy theme - but can anyone confirm that it is actually performed by 101 Strings? Their 1975 LP "TV Themes" was reissued on CD in Japan in 2021 with two bonus tracks, one of which was I Spy. But it seems that this track did not make an appearance on any 101 Strings album in the US, or indeed any Alshire album by a different artist. So is this a previously unissued 101 Strings track that was perhaps recorded in Japan, or is it in fact from a different catalogue altogether?

Shazam ID'ed it as a version by "The Golden Age Orchestra & Paul Summer" on a CD titled "TV-Hits Vol. 2 Instrumental", but don't know how accurate that is...

Thank you very much for your input! I'm pretty sure "The Golden Age Orchestra & Paul Summer" is a fake name used to bring together a selection of tracks from various sources. A lot of them are insipid synth versions, but the version of Kojak is terrific and sounds like a proper orchestra to me. Would you mind Shazam-ifying it just in case it comes up with someone other than Mr Summer? As for the I Spy theme I suspect it may be just one of the many tracks that Alshire probably recorded over the years that never ended up on any album. Countdown Music is the current owner of the 101 Strings catalogue so its inclusion on the Paul Summer collection is possibly a little iffy! Anyway, here's the Kojak link, and thanks again for your help:

The theme from Kojak Shazam'ed back to the same album.

Thanks for checking. I've started a new topic about Kojak just in case someone out there knows the performer...

Please identify a piece of music that will stop Billy-Bob Carson from calling everything he sees "Thinly-Disguised Gay-Adjacent". big grin
