Hey there, this is also a voice of the past! My handle was scoechaser, and my name is Philipp from Hamburg, Germany. I was an avid message board member back in the good old days of film scoring and fsm message board days. Strangely I somehow faded out of here, as life progressed. But I do miss those times deeply and since my mum died two years ago, I feel the heavy need for nostalgia. I have the feeling that in the last years, I have missed a lot od the stuff I had in the past, listening to film music was one of those things, since I didn't have a cd player for like 10 years to listen to my over 4000 soundtrakcs! I just bought one last yearn and enjoy film music again on a new level. Just wanted to say Hi and I missed you guys!

Dan Hobgood? The lone American FSMer who could claim to have an "ancestral home." I'm here, Jim -- though I don't really get the comment. (That's OK.) Very busy these days, thriving (which is good, especially following an astounding injustice that befell me a decade ago and that still needs additional rectification). Passion for quality scoring still runs white hot, but with favorite scorers/composers relegated to history at this point (and not much that I've found to get excited about in recent years), active discussion about the genre isn't as appealing. I am still lecturing, etc., about scoring, though, and here is a link to a(n as-good-as-I-could-make) recording that I did of my most recent college lecture, the subject of which was Jerry Goldsmith: https://youtu.be/gWiK2fdXntw?si=i8O_eUkXChvsGfDZ (Bear in mind that this was for college students who, as college students, weren't even alive in Jerry's lifetime and who are largely contemplating music in film for the first time.)
