We expect informed, intelligent and meaninfgul comments or commentary instead of what we most often get.

We expect well-rounded musical interests that speak of literacy instead of musical poverty.

We love enthusiasm and some negativity with supporting reasoning.

We seldom get any of this.

We do get posturing, jejune put-downs and poorly thought out slams.

That is a lovely piece of writing. Well-done. I love the image of "musical poverty."

644. Thor stating what a few others at the FSM Board have probably been thinking in "Alternative score forum with less mainstream focus":

"I’d like a separate Bond forum, to get that nonsense out of the way, but other than that, I’d like to keep it as is."

645. nuts_score being magnanimous and deeply philosophical about Kathleen Kennedy's impeding retirement, Star Wars, and the nature of fandom in "Lucasfilm, Carnival, DCU, Star Trek":

"Kathleen Kennedy is 71 years old; wealthy; happily married to Frank Marshall for almost 40 years; and has classic original films under her producing belt like Gremlins, Back to the Future, ET: The Extraterrestrial, Jurassic Park, The Sixth Sense, and many more. She deserves a good retirement. I only wish godspeed to the next steward of Star Wars. Outside of financial opportunity, time has proven to us that you take on the most entitled, obsessive fanbase enamored with mediocrity since Abrahamic religions became all the rage. George Lucas doesn't miss it. Kennedy won't miss it. And Dave Filoni is probably next in line to suffocate us with content starring CGI replacements and endless fanservice bits.

"I've lived a happier life everyday since moving on from my own personal affection towards Star Wars. No need to chase a dragon that dull.

646. Octoberman, making a long-overdue appearance in this thread in the proactive art of self defense as it regards America's favorite French-cut stringbean, Timothee Chalamet, in "Lord of the Rings, Ichabod, Oscars":

"He's well on his way to becoming over-exposed.
But I decided to beat the rush and feel that way about him already."

647. Preston Neal Jones with a touching post about Peter Jason, whom he knew, in "Peter Jason (1944-2025)":

"I've known Peter since college student days in the Carnegie-Mellon University drama department. It warms my heart to know he's regarded so fondly - and I know it would have warmed Peter's heart as well."

648. JeffM, suggesting how FSM posts might be preserved before the wrecking ball tears dow the current forum in "LK Personal Website":

"I’d say that if importing existing posts isn’t an option, the original poster of each topic must physically retype the entire thread for posterity."

649. Johnonymous86, wanting "a little more" out of his entertainment products in this reply to the FSM Board version of Claude Debussy in "The Death of the Classic Film Score- an Article":

Claude Debussy: "While John Williams has undoubtedly composed some inventive scores, he is often associated with revitalizing the traditional Hollywood orchestral style—a style that I, find limiting and predictable."

Johnonymouse86: "While Thomas Edison has undoubtedly contributed to the development of some impressive technologies, he is often associated with moving images--a style that I find somewhat limiting and predictable. I much prefer my film experience to be deconstructed and tangible. I want the lines of reality to be completely obscured; at no point while consuming this entertainment experience do I want to be aware that I am, in fact, consuming an entertainment experience."

650. JeffM taking the trouble to locate all of his entries in this very thread, the epic, FSM-history spanning "Favorite FSM Posts Over the Years." A thread that is truly among the elite in powerful, lived experience topics at this obsolete and dying message board.

Jim Phelps (2024 FSM Man of the Year): "On the "Other Side" of the board, there is a long-running thread of the "favorite" FSM posts over the years. Many on this side don't even know that some of their "works" have been included."

JeffM: "Wow, I made it!!!!! Page 5, 9 AND 11!! Woooooo!!!!!!"

So, just click on Preferences, and re-set what comments per page you want, to avoid his comments on pages 5, 9 and 11. ;-)

Please forgive Justin Bogroll's attempts at "cutting" humor, as he's struggling with his obsession with Family Matters.

England, you may want to forgive every one of your own horrible sitcoms, because Family Matters is infinitely worse than anything your country could have shat out.

Very decent of you to say so.

Thank you. I have spent my waning years attempting to improve relations between our two declining nations.
