702. From July 2023: Joe "Never Fear" Sikoryak reassuring the swindled multitudes that the Goldsmith Companions books will be printed in "a couple of months."

"Never fear, we are still a couple of months from printing the book, and all backers will be contacted by email to confirm their shipping address before orders are fulfilled."

That's had me in fits of laughter. A couple of months. He couldn't have got that more wrong. Poor old Joe!

Maybe he's having them printed word by word.

Maybe he's having them printed word by word.

Maybe they're using a letterpress from the 1800's?

Still would have been done by now.

704. Howard L. requesting funds for his upcoming book in "Upcoming Book: Jerry Goldsmith Companion", in which a thief begging for money robbed his constituency blind:

"Ah, perchance to dream of such recognition. Greetings, Mr. Bond. Glad to hear you got paid. Now while you’re at it, toss a little bone my way and support a gulp starving first-time writer. And that goes for the rest of you marauders, for goshsakes I'm wearing a cardboard belt! eek"

705. Hurdy Gurdy and Graham Watt's exchange in "LLL Disaster Movie Collection - John Williams 4CDs." None of the humorless, mainstream, office drone FSMers who squat on that side of the forum noticed it, but I did:

Hurdy Gurdy: "But how beautiful is the whole box bundle to fondle in your hands?
Does it not take you back to those teenage fumbles with your early girlfriends in some dark corner of the universe, when everything was new and we genuinely had no clue?"

Graham Watt: "Girlfriends? I'm an FSMer."

707. Prince Damian, already nostalgic for dysfunction, in "FSM 35th Anniversary Kickstarter Launch Tues 6/10!":

"Am I the only one who's going to miss all the 'service unavailable' notices?! And all the time they afford me to do other things."

708. Jeff Bond, in the Goldsmith Book Scam thread, in what has to be one of the all-time great posts ever at FSM:

"And while I absolutely understand the rancor on this thread and elsewhere I can guarantee that it's not going to grease the wheels and if anything I would assume it will only add to the inertia as it continues to be taken very personally."

709...

Ibelin, telling Slitherjump, Bruce Hornsby-like, That's Just The Way It Is...in the ludicrous Pyramid-Scheme folly that is/was the 'What Do Goldsmith Fans Need A Companion For?' Thread...

Slitherjump =
What rule did I even break?

ibelin =
The universal ‘never go on Facebook’ rule.

710. lostinscores with a remark worthy of FSM's greats in "Taylor White- Nuremberg (2025)":

Nicolai Zwar: "Super Mario Bros. was a joyful score and lots of fun, with many references to the original Super Mario themes."

lostinscores: "Oh so joyful that I thought I‘ll give it a try. But nothing happened, maybe I am dead or completely Goldsmith-Horner-Williams-spoiled."

711. Jim Phelps' poetic tirade against financial butterfingers Taylor White in the film score haiku thread:

Thank you for starting that thread, as I had no idea that the haiku would become my "major art form."

712. DavidCoscina [though since edited] by no means suggesting that there will one day be a film score nerd version of Luigi Mangione in "Upcoming Book: Jerry Goldsmith Blah Blah Blah":

"Not that I'm advocating this, nor condoning it, but just posting this as a cautionary tale to people in positions who swindle or abuse many others. Once in a while, Newton's Third Law comes into play. This is why, if a person doesn't have the natural instinct for empathy or consideration, they should consider the ramifications of their actions."

Bart Simpson called, he said to stop bringing Butterfingers into it.

Also, he asked if Amanda Hugginkiss is there.

713. Moolik in the "Upcoming Book: THE JERRY GOLDSMITH COMPANION 1 & 2" thread reminding everyone you already have the books in the form of CD liner notes.

"Well...just go through all the great liner notes of all the Goldsmiths cds you own...and there you have your own Goldsmiths companion..what else could have been in those two books which will never see the light of day?"

714. Viscount Bark channeling that infectious Edwardian/Georgian Steampunk enthusiasm with his review of episode one of Q.E.D. in "Anyone Remember Q.E.D.?"...if only you people would be like this for other topics, like film scores...

"24 June 1912

"Good day, chaps!

"What won't that Professor Deverill treat us to next? Last night, we were privileged to view his latest invention called a "U-tube," which allowed us to watch his latest escapade drama, enacted by an amusing group of actors, on a screen of some sort. An Entertainment bursting with color, action and jolly catchy tunes (now all the professor needs to devise is some sort of invention in which this music can be reproduced and distributed) with derring-do and villainous mischief all foiled by Professor Deverill's actions along with his motley band of helpers.

Tonight, we'll be viewing Part 2: The Great Motor Race, and we're all anticipating it greatly. I'm a bit perturbed that that delightful actress, Miss Sarah Berger, will not be returning, but we'll see how her replacement is.

Onward, all!"

715. JB Fan with the Taylor White-devised ideal Kickstarter business model in "Upcoming Book: Blah Blah Blah" thread:

"Taylor White after imagining this perspective announcing another Kickstarter campaigns for Bernard Herrmann, John Barry, James Horner, Jerry Fielding, Maurice Jarre, Georges Delerue, John Addison, Michael Kamen, George Anthell, Les Baxter, Elmer Bernstein, Henry Mancini etc. books. With our help he'll take all over the world!!!!

"(he also had plans for John Williams companion book, but sadly for Taylor, Mr Williams is still alive and could do something legal with him if people will not get books")

I thought it was a valid insight! After all, it worked for POTUS 46 and his (pre-pardoned crime) family.
