I came home today to this sitting on my front step. (Maine, USA) I think it sounds quite good. I understand the "dull" comments, but it does have a lack of harshness that is pleasant to my ears. I will never understand the fades, but I can live with them. I don't know if I'll ever dare to play the records. Right now I have a $35 record player that I play $2 flea market finds on. One LP I looked at was totally covered in fingerprints straight out of the sleeve.

Very smart of Stylotone to include the incorrect covers - they just put the nail in the coffin of those who thought that might be a hot item. Oops.

Very smart of Stylotone to include the incorrect covers - they just put the nail in the coffin of those who thought that might be a hot item. Oops. Hot items? Lol. I only want the CDs and tried to sell my mint copy of the Khartoum LP. And I asked not for much. I will possibly offer them for a few bucks at a used LP shop here.... Yes, you obviously have no clew about the collector mentality. It's not a question of trying to sell a Khartoum LP - it's a question of a cover being recalled but a few getting out. If they hadn't included that original mistaken cover then those few copies would absolutely be all over eBay at large prices. THAT is the collector mentality.

I'm thrilled at the wonderful sound quality of this release, but deeply frustrated at the fadeouts at the end of two thirds of the tracks. The last 2-3 seconds of many tracks are faded out prematurely, taking music with them. In particular, the end of "The Hunt" (track35) suffers from the fade out. Same with "The Nightmare" and many other cues. I wish a new mastering would fix this problem, but seems unlikely given the effort involved in pressing new CDs and especially the cutting of the LPs in the set. How do others feel about this?

I read the comments from Jim Doherty but missed the earlier comments a few pages back. Very disappointed by the fadeouts. Even worse if they were done to hide the sound of tape hiss, which I didn't think was that bad in this recording (I've heard much more prominent tape hiss on other recordings).

At minimum it would be nice if a new digital download could be provided of the tracks with the problematic fadeouts removed... Yavar

Given the choice of an expensive Marnie OST with fades or the McNeely recording, I'm going with the OST. As much as I have enjoyed the Varese version, the sound engineering is suboptimal and tempos seem rushed throughout.

Just received this from the company that I ordered Stylotone's MARNIE from. "MARNIE/SOUNDTRACK (RED VINYL)@BERNARD HERRMANN@2LP/SUPER DELUXE EDITION (5060249910190) Has been delayed until Dec 25, 2019. It was previously scheduled for Jul 12, 2019. We’re very sorry about this! If your payment information has changed or changes before the release of this title, please let us know and we will assist you in placing a new order." Could this have to do with the fade out issue that everyone has been discussing? Has anyone received there's from a U.S. company yet? I know the European companies have been selling copies. Curious Pete Dear Curious: No, it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with too few vinyl pressing plants of worth and a tremendous backlog of titles.

Personally I'm with those who think the wrong cover actually looks much better. Yavar
