I saw a Sunday comics page for the first time in a zillion years. I notice that only one strip included characters wearing masks.

Opening day for California, today. Not as many people without masks as I expected. Civic/government services still require it indoors.

Here in the UK cases are coming in at around 50,000 per day....... And tomorrow we are coming OUT of lockdown, with people told that they can use their own judgement re wearing masks in shops, hospitals, on public transport and whether to social distance etc. Madness. Anyone who knows the general public in the UK will be horrified at them being able to make their own judgement on anything. About 10% of the public are morons - they won't get vacinnated, they believe in conspiracy theories, they won't wear masks. They don't give a toss about people around them. How to get these idiots to get vacinnated? Well, in France they are doing 'Covid passports'. If you want to go to a restaurant, drink in a bar, go to the theatre you have to have been vacinnated. This of course has seen a surge in young people getting vacinnated in France. Hopefully we will do this in the same way in the UK...... Current plans are so wooly. Leaving it to the discretion of each establishment. Ridiculous. A bit of a worrying trend in the UK is that vacinnations are not stopping the spread of the virus. It is spreading almost as much now in the vacinnated as in the vacinnated. I know three people who have had both jabs and have tested positive on the past two weeks. All of them felt unwell and had mild symptoms - headache, sore throat etc. So please everybody, don't think you are safe just because you have had both jabs. Still take precautions. Wear a mask, wash your hands etc. And if you feel unwell, get tested and don't go to work before you do. Having the jab makes it less likely you will get severe symptoms and end up in hospital. It also means you are less likely to spread the virus if you have it. Having both jabs does not stop you getting Covid.

It's masks off tomorrow in England, but even though I don't like wearing them, I'll carry on just the same, out of respect for shop workers if nothing else (but not outside, there's never been any point in doing that). We, HM messengers, er, I mean post men are still not allowed to van share. At least for a while longer.

I have friends (non-morons, last time I checked), who have had the virus (one, more than once) who haven't been vaccinated, are continuing to act responsibly and follow Government guidelines, who are very healthy, look after themselves (exercise/diet) and don't like/prefer to avoid taking medicines, whether they have been trial tested for years or months. It's good to see this pandemic going the way all other things go in human nature, from Catholics to Protestants, Nazi's to Allied Forces, Israel's to Palestinians, NRA to Anti-Gun, Conservatives to Labour and Man Utd to the Rest of the World.

Idiots, morons whatever you want to call them fits. Not having the vaccine increases the chance of your friends spreading the virus to other people who may be immunocompromised or ill. I read today that 3.8 million people fall into the clinically at risk category in the UK - these are the sort at people at risk from the unthinking, uncaring, uneducated group that will not get vaccinated, wear mask etc. This may not include your friends - who knows. Also this unvaccinated wedge of people increase the chance of mutations developing in the virus. If your crack at the end refers to the way the virus is dividing us, I agree - but we have all been asked to help one another and come together, and a minority are refusing to do so. Instead of thinking of others they are, with caveats (some people dont want the vaccine for genuine medical reasons) just thinking of themselves. They are the ones dividing us, not people on here being critical of them.
