Jerry abducted stray cats off the streets and pulled their tails in the recording booth. He could have just used sythesizer, but Joe insisted on authenticity!

Very funny on the pulled their tails! LMAO!

Sad to read this when you click on the link to SAE (

Such an iconic work should be forever in print in my opinion...

That said, hats off to Lukas Kendall and the whole gang at FSM for *years* of hard work to release this wonderful 2 CD set.

As soon as I saw the alert from SAE I was fortunate enough to pick a copy. Did they really sell 10,000 copies?

It might not be as good as having a physical copy, but there is an MP3 version for $8.99 that has the exact same tracks as the FSM release:

Varese's new deluxe edition of GREMLINS 2 is surprisingly available in MP3 format too.

Is this CD Out Of Print, or not?

The official listing doesn't indicate that it is :

However, it's not actually available to purchase from Screen Archives, or any other retailer.

It appears this is now out of print, at least at SAE.

So my quest to test speciality label CDs that have been reported to have failed some time after pressing will end with Gremlins once I get the time to dig it out.

Fortunately none of the suspects I've seen mentioned have given me issues, that is:

Body Heat (FSM)
The Black Hole (Intrada)
Star Trek IIi (FSM)
The Black Cauldron (Intrada)
LOTR: Complete Recordings (DVD-Audios)

Aaaand Gremlins is still available. I guess SAE alludes to something being out of print rather than simply state they're waiting for a repressing.
