Oh, and after some digging in the SGAE database, I managed to unearth some original cue titles for the Horner score, most of which pertain to unreleased music: Elevator Intro Riverwalk Khamel’s Death Mrs. Morgan Calls Safe Deposit Box In The Garage Part 1 In The Garage Part 2 In The Garage Part 3 Victory/Phone Calls

Maybe the wrong thread to bump but this is the only one I could find and didn't want to clog the board with a new one. On the heels of Sneakers, I decided to give this one a spin on this dreary morning. Pelican Brief is a score I don't spin often and am always surprised how good it is when I do (save for some of the woefully dated synths, though I don't think they blight the score). Given the clash between the synths and there being so much fully orchestral material, I wonder if there was a situation like Apollo 13 where a lot of last-minute music was needed and not enough time to get a full orchestra together. Garage Chase is in the same (very same) vein as Playtronics Break In from Sneakers, hence what got me thinking about it. But I always forget how ravishing the main theme (Darby's Theme) is, how much excellent, twisty-turny suspense music there is, and how the music has a vivid story to it. I always forget, too, how this score seems to have inspired a lot of Horner's 90's sound, much like Sneakers. Definite shades of Apollo 13. Also quite a little bit of this turns up in (the excellent, also underrated) Flightplan. Just good stuff here. I'd kill for a remaster and expansion (and especially if it got this excellent score into the hands of those who aren't familiar with it).

Alas, it’s Warner Bros., so an expansion seems pretty unlikely at the moment compared with say half a decade ago… Yavar

Really,this is NOT in Horner’s top 30,as far as a stand-alone listen .

I always thought it was wild, sitting in the cinema, watching those Navy SWAT type guys sneak ashore in boats and hearing Horner's synth refrain from Where The River Runs Black. Wacky Old Horner...he was such a card.
