Goldsmith did compose a brief musical flourish for Sharon Stone uncrossing her legs.

In an unrelated footnote to this theme......

Did you know that Burt Bacharach & Hal David wrote "The Sad Sack" sung by Jerry Lewis for the 1957 film of the same name?

Goldsmith did compose a brief musical flourish for Sharon Stone uncrossing her legs.

But we're talking of ZARDOZ, not BASIC INSTINCT. We're concerned with Mr. Connery's costuming - perhaps the theme for this delicate situation could be called, "Rocks, He Loses." (See what I did there?)

David Munrow? Never heard of him.

Pedantic, non-sarcastic response -- which misses the point of this thread altogether I know, but...

Munrow was actually a much-admired early music specialist, who adapted music of the Renaissance for Ken Russell's The Devils and the BBC's Henry VIII and His Six Wives.

As such he seemed an odd choice for Zardoz, but I thought his score worked extremely well.

He was a promssing young musician, who tragically committed suicide not long after Zardoz was made.

Ken Russell's The Devils

Will we ever get a recording of the original soundtrack recording by Munrow, Maxwell Davies, and Yamashta? I know we have re-recordings and suites out there, but I mean the actual 1971 recording. It's one of the most savage scores ever created.

One of David Munro's recordings is traveling through space aboard the Voyager space probe. His recording of a piece of Elizabethan music by Anthony Holborne was selected by Carl Sagan as part of NASA's "Voyager Golden Record".

Here is the actual piece:
