But Max Richter is not minimalist. It's true that he uses those tools on occasion, but mostly, he's about combining contemporary classical trends with a romantic sensibility. MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS is a good example. If you count Glass, Nyman, Budd et. Al as minimalist, he is too. But, it's just a label to more easily categorize his style. Not always descriptive.
