    "I Can't Believe I'm Losing You"

    https://archive.org/details/jake-and-the-fatman-s05/Jake+and+the+Fatman+-+5x18+-+I+Can't+Believe+I'm+Losing+You.mkv

This is the final by Meyers for the series.

    Highlights:
  • 1:00 in.
  • 6:29 in.^
  • 8:51 in.^
  • 11:42 in.
  • 18:24 in.^
  • 23:13 in.^
  • 28:59 in.^
  • 30:34 in.^
  • 39:42 in.^
  • 43:52 in.^

A good score, especially those two closing cues. Meyers went out on a high note on this show.

    "All Through the Night"
    By: Joel Rosenbaum
    https://archive.org/details/jake-and-the-fatman-s05/Jake+and+the+Fatman+-+5x19+-+All+Through+the+Night.mkv

    Highlights:
  • 2:11 in.
  • 6:08 in.
  • 8:19 in.^
  • 10:55 in.^
  • 11:44 in.^
  • 16:30 in.^

  • 28:50 in.^
  • 33:58 in.^
  • 37:57 in.^
  • 42:38 in.^
  • 43:57 in.^

David Soul guest stars as a very effective bad guy. And Rosenbaum's score is quite good and really helps boost the performances even more.

    "Ain't Misbehavin'"
    By: Dick DeBenedictis
    https://archive.org/details/jake-and-the-fatman-s05/Jake+and+the+Fatman+-+5x20+-+Ain't+Misbehavin'.mkv

    Highlights:
  • 2:02 in.^
  • 6:44 in.^
  • 12:36 in.
  • 15:26 in.^
  • 17:50 in.
  • 19:17 in.^
  • 21:47 in.^
  • 27:09 in.^
  • 28:37 in.^
  • 30:11 in.^
  • 32:35 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both)
  • 35:43 in.^
  • 37:24 in.^
  • 39:22 in.^

This was a back-door pilot for a series that was planned, but never happened. That's how they probably talked DeBenedictis back.

This was the last acting project of Robert Reed, who died shortly after it was filmed.

    (NtM: 25:30, 44:45)

    "Nightmare"
    By: Joel Rosenbaum
    https://archive.org/details/jake-and-the-fatman-s05/Jake+and+the+Fatman+-+5x21+-+Nightmare.mkv

    Highlights:
  • 1:00 in.^
  • 4:23 in.^
  • 9:13 in.^
  • 13:00 in.^
  • 15:50 in.^
  • 18:58 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^
  • 22:20 in.^
  • 27:01 in.^
  • 30:36 in.^
  • 34:21 in.^
  • 36:28 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^(both)
  • 38:49 in.^
  • 39:21 in.^
  • 40:59 in.^
  • 43:47 in.^

It just occurred to me: Rosenbaum would have been a perfect choice for a "Basic Instinct 2" of knock-off film. This low-key dark score is probably one of the series' best efforts and surely a high note for Rosenbaum to go out on for the show.

    "Mickey Daytona"
    By: Steve Tyrell
    https://archive.org/details/jake-and-the-fatman-s05/Jake+and+the+Fatman+-+5x22+-+Beautiful+Dreamer+(a.k.a.+Mickey+Daytona).mkv

    Highlights:
  • 12:15 in.^

Just a bunch of generic rather cheap-sounding synth garbage. What a terrible note to go out on, musically, for the show. There's nothing here that needs to be released.

And it doesn't help that this apparent back-door pilot sucks big time. This is a rather bad episode.

And that was that for the show; there were no TV movies, no spin-off series, no remakes, no reboots, no continuations, etc.

The final episode of this show marked the final acting gig of William Conrad. Less than two years later, he died. We lost one of TV's biggest delights. But he had quite a career and was the lad of three shows, playing Frank Cannon, Nero Wolfe (I've not seen that show), and McCabe on this show.
