Give Shogun a listen. It's over 3 hrs of awesomeness.
Pick one up at Intrada before they're gone for good. It's too good to miss.

Who me? Oh yes, I saw and admired this list. Almost sent along kudos. But I've got all these too. Except a couple of the ....unofficial things. But to balance that, I could swing a couple unofficial not on there. All's even.

Good listing but mine has MANY more 4 stars.
Hell, even Fatal Attraction, disliked across that board has been loved by me forEVER!!! Couldnt part with that album.
Cheers,
-Sean

Hi Sean, if you have a list with your avalation and want to show us, I'd love to see.
I think the avalations are fair, one or other that I not agree.
By my side I always prefer the orchestral scores, I think Maurice Jarre had a very peculiar style that become he unique and for that reason I think he was so special, I not want to say that he is the best of all composers, no! I just think that this different style was so good for film music, as the great others composers he brought a different voice and for my taste (I understant that some people has difficulties to understand his music, because is bit different of the usual) this is a great point.
Some eletronic scores I think was interesting, sometimes very effective, but many others are repetitive with few interest. I think to insist too much in electronics scores wasn't a good choice of him and some others composers too.

Hey adilson, my companero in Jarre! It's good to see you here, I DO think we fly the MJ flag highest.
I gave up on keeping lists, used to obsessively, ages ago I'm afraid. Just take the above and put 4 or 5 next to all, ha!
I found the composer in the 80s in his synth heyday...and as a 9, 10 year old, he bridged my love of keyboards to the symphony. Literally, things like No Way Out to Gorillas In the Mist to Mad Max Thunderdome, all fell in my lap in succession. Worked backwards from there to the good old Franju & TNP days.
Everything is valid and loved by me - I still adore his synth work & call me nuts but i can tell his chamber recording approach made a difference. Perhaps it's just a visual, seeing 2-5 guys in a room playing the scores off the wall (where they were sometimes posted) with Mike Fisher playing live percussion.
Bliss, dude...
