Back to the music.
'Old fashioned' sounds good to me. Probably mean the 90s and early 2000s though.
CD comes out on Decca next month.

Strong start, sublime end, but many subdued tracks that presumably work better in film than on album. That’s my hot take.

The samples have sold the score to me. Lovely!

Listening on Spotify and some of it is just glorious.
Love the second half of We Will Break That Record and the trumpet/brass in Anything Can Happen In This Weather is lovely.
There is a modern/ambient nature to many tracks but it's quite dreamy and ethereal.
Nice stuff so far.

I like it, but it is more modern and dreamy/ambient in nature than 'old fashioned' or a throwback to the scores of yesteryear.
But I don't think the sound of yesteryear is allowed in films from the USA or UK/Europe, although Spain gives it a bloody good go.

Been playing the last two score tracks of this one - The Sky Lies Open & We Took To The Skies, which play as one 9 minute cue - A LOT!!!
Absolutely gorgeous dreamy orchestral/ambient scoring.
Acathla, you would love it mate.

Same here— those last two tracks are killer. Rest of score leaves me a bit cold.

Yes Doc, the last two tracks are stand out, but I'm having an okay time with some of the other more lyrical/ambient tracks.
Here's my whittled edition..(which includes the song which ends things nicely).

2. We Will Break That Record
3. Anything Can Happen in This Weather
6. We Rose Above It
7. Have You Noticed
8. Of All the Amazing Things
9. We Have a Policy
10. Dancing in a Parachute
11. Do You Have Faith
12. An Obligation
16. And Now Snow
18. The Sky Lies Open
19. We Took to The Skies (18 & 19 plays as one track)
20. Home to You – Sigrid

Steven Price composes a terrific score for The Aeronauts. Very good. Also, the fact that Sigrid is aboard for the final track-Home to You is a BONUS! I love her debut album.
