Eshkeri made a comment about being attached to score THOR when Matthew Vaughn was supposed to direct it. That's it.

Eshkeri said he was going to score it in an interview; why would he say hypotheticals?

So far you've not provided factual evidence he did no score, so your opinion there was not a rejected score, lacks any foundation. If somebody wants to come along and point to where he said he didn't do one or a director or producer said he didn't do one, great -- I love solving unsolved mysteries, but opinion doesn't equal fact.

That Kenneth Branagh directed Thor, who has used Patrick Doyle on all of his films, should be fact enough.

A fact of what? Films change directors after a score is done. Sometimes directors work with a composer they've not worked with before even with an established relationship with another, for various reason including availability. Again, opinions don't solve this one.

And if it were as easy as asking Eshkeri, then I'd have solved this by now, but over the years I've contacted him two or three times and he just doesn't reply. Doesn't mean he doesn't want to, he may have an agent or somebody else reading his e-mails, or even simply forgot to get back (I've had people reply back a year or so later, just from being busy).

In this specific case, Branagh directed Thor, hired Patrick Doyle, neither got fired, Doyle's score was used, the end.

Do you have anything factual to back that up with? Otherwise once again I am having another opinion tossed at me that Eshkeri did nothing. Just please, stop with the opinions already, we're going in pointless circles.

As already mentioned, Eshkeri was attached when Matthew Vaughn waa supposed to direct Thor back in 2005. Since that version never happened, Eshkeri was dropped the moment Vaughn left the project. When Branagh signed on a couple of years later he bought on his regular composer, Patrick Doyle.

All points brought up already. We're going in circles.

Somebody want to point out the director never did anything and left before filming, good. I don't care about it personally for the Rejected Film Scores website, but I'll make note of it.

Somebody want to point out that Eshkeri was never signed and thus contractually obligated to score the film, good. That happens, you know, and a directors take the chance to get the guy they've used before. Show me where he says this. Anybody know him and can get him to actually e-mail me to clear it up? Great!

That'll solve it. On the recorded a score for the film end, but then I of course still look at the demos end.

Can the Desplat superhero score thread not be turned into a circles thread?

Stop replying to me then with opinions and no factual evidence to back up the claims. If I don't have to refute anything, then it should end.

Alaways thought Scarjos Black Widow was overrated.Shes a decent supporting character but doesnt need an entire film devoted to her.And besides.....spoiler alert.....the character is dead currently in the MCU.

Also, why does she not have a russian accent? Is it because Scarjo is just a bad actress and cant do one? Or is the character afflicted with the same condition that caused Scarlett Witch to lose her sokovian accent between Age Of Ultron and Civil War?

OK, finally heard back from Eshkeri and I think I can clear up this whole Thor-No Thor thing for us.

Dear Shaun,

How’s it hangin’, my brotha! I just popped out to grab some new socks (long story but I’ll just say this - if it looks like a cat at fifty yards, make sure it’s ACTUALLY a cat when it gets within patting distance. Damn thing bit right through my shoe, but ain’t no thang lol - these shoes can just be my studio shoes from now on.).

Anyway, as to your question - of course I still have copies of Stardust for sale!

Your dear friend,.
I.E.

Stop replying to me then with opinions and no factual evidence to back up the claims. If I don't have to refute anything, then it should end.

It takes a quick Google search and a little reasonable conjecture to get to the conclusion that Eshkeri was only attached to Thor when Matthew Vaughn was, and when Vaughn left well before filming and Branagh was hired, Eshkeri was gone, too.

It's no stretch to realize Eshkeri wrote nothing for Thor. What would he have scored? There was nothing for him to score!

Plus, you, personally, have been around this topic on FSM and in other forums years ago, and you were never so adamant Eshkeri wrote something then. You just dropped it when someone else pointed out the Eshkeri/Vaughn connection.

If anyone needs to leave it be, it's you. My earlier point stands. You're not helping.

Conjecture is not fact and is ultimately comes down to opinion.

Again, back in that circle.

I have zero interest in the film, but Desplat hasn't been in action thriller mode for a while, so my interest in the score is certainly peaked.

Deductive reasoning would indicate Eshkeri wrote absolutely nothing for THOR. That's all that matters.

Deductive reasoning is fine on it's own, but trying to pass deductive reasoning off as fact, is of course wrong.

Still in the feedback loop.
